Aug 6, 2021 It’s not supposed to be condescending, it’s the truth. When I was a teenager only listening to rappers like Eminem & rappity rappers that focus on multi syllables over making a pleasant verse or saying anything clever that isn’t a (get it?) I thought s--- like this was the peak of rap & never understood why people trashed it, but since branching out for over a decade it dawned on me that this s--- is nothing more than okay, it’s nothing of value. You can see from the posters that f--- with this on a heavy level don’t post outside this section or they’ve posted what hip hop they listen to & it’s dire. Nobody is telling others to not like it, but lashing out at us saying we’re being irrational or condescending etc what responses are you guys expecting? This is a music discussion forum, so we’re detailing our reasonings for disliking the *music* - I’m a huge Em fan, so it’s not something I appreciate when he drops duds, come on now.
Aug 6, 2021 100% agreed. The opposite is true as well though. If someone liked it, he's either gonna be called the biggest stan or someone who doesn't have a taste in music, because he listens to fewer rappers. Like let people feel a certain way about a verse, it is not that serious lol
Aug 6, 2021 This right here is a great break down of how amazing this verse is from a technical standpoint. Which it is, BUT I agree musically this verse will not have replay value for me. As someone who is a fan of technical rap I appreciate this, but musically it’s not sonically appealing yes I agree with you all. Myself as a rapper I try to juggle both, which Em isn’t capable of a lot these days.

But if he doesn’t have any content I want it to sound good, like discombobulated - song with not much content wise but a really enjoyable and listenable song. Not asking for early 2000s em. Just no more of this imo. Even as a big fan of all his albums, I’m starting to get bored and feel others are aswell.

Didn't mind some parts of it but the end was awful, what the f--- was that big sean "recorded over a different beat" s--- at the end? why is he talking about elves and santa clause? lmao Em you can just show up with a cool 16 or even 8 bar verse and it's fine, you don't have to make every song 300 bars
