Aug 7, 2021 I was just thinking about this line on Bump Heads "So which one are you? X, Luther, Pac or Michael? Just keep singin' the same song, recycled" Right now, and as much as I love MTBMB, I'd much rather he tried to recycle old songs like Sing For The Moment.
Aug 7, 2021 Lmao if you want the "old EM" then buy his old albums. I'm excited to see what this man can still come up with 4 decades into rapping and closing in on 50. He is NEVER going to be the guy from 99-03 again. Once you give up that expectation you can appreciate the music and longevity of his career
Aug 7, 2021 But, see? Here's the thing. Some people want this old flow back. Some people want his anger back. Some people want his old voice. Some people want him to bring back the way he used to layer his vocals. The thing I want back the most, is the content. Which should be the easiest thing for him given how smart he is and how good of a lyricist he is. Focus on the street (even though we all know he isn't walking them anymore), focus on things people can relate to. That's what got us all to be Eminem fans. In on way or the other, we connected. Again, his current chill/laid back flow and voice, I'm OK with that. I prefer this than the s--- he was doing on Revival. I'm sure the main problem is in his obsession for "BARZ!" and doubles and triples.
Aug 7, 2021 I’m just as guilty of this as with many others but you’re totally right. Em gets the most s--- over any artist in music history. He just set the bar so high that he’s never going to live up to it ever again. The man is still out rapping everyone from his era and most of everyone in this era. Tbh I think the lack of the Bass brothers plays a huge role in his quality of music. I feel like they had a lot of input in the direction of his music. We all keep saying we need Em to link back up with Dre more. No he needs the Bass Brothers again. But on topic, he’s still a beast with the pen and should be appreciated for his longevity.
Aug 7, 2021 "Bruh imagine Em linked back up with Bobby creekwater stat quo and Obie trice took a hit or two of the blunt and went ham on an album"
Aug 7, 2021 @Carnifex I don't want "the OLD Eminem" back. That's not what I'm saying at all. Don't twist my words or the concept of what I'm trying to convey here.
Aug 7, 2021 As long as there are people celebrating that type of thing on YouTube and on Twitter, he'll continue to do so. He seems to be checking what people say all the time and then act accordingly. And sometimes that can be a good thing (because it is what made him go from Revival to Kamikaze and MTBMB ), but it can also be a massive downer. Because it confuses him (I think). Makes him think constant beat switches and supersonic speed at the end of each verse (or the 3rd verse) is the way to go. He probably doesn't realize the people who go crazy for that sort of thing aren't the same ones who made him who he is and who loved him for what he used to do.
Aug 7, 2021 Dre can't rejuvenate his career at this point anymore, he seriously needs to do something with Tyler.
Aug 7, 2021 What Em really needs is a hit of ecstasy again. All of his classic songs were written and recorded while he was high on ecstasy. All of them.
Aug 7, 2021 That’s not enough. Dre doesn’t care enough at this point to sway Em’s artistic creativity in a whole ‘nother direction yet that’s what he desperately needs. He needs to be groomed like the Bass Brothers did with him in the late 90s/early 2000s. “Buy his old albums” oh great advice, why didn’t I think of that?
Aug 7, 2021 I don't like OF. And they backstabbed Em anyway lol He needs beats by Dre, Dre's mixing,...
