Stepping stone could do without that random "take me to the river" sample hook that you forget when em comes in with the infinitely better "wash away my sins" bit. Like it's such a dope eminem hook, dunno why that bottled pre chorus is there and is so poorly mixed. Other than that stellar, even the puns and wordplay here are a-game s--- and not corny at all And Castle is missing a peak fame verse to elevate it. Without it it feels incomplete. Pre-fame, just before blowing and then the edge of decline....why skip the top? With a 4th verse in between 2 and 3, probably set in 02/03, this really could've could've a 10/10 concept. Especially with the reprise coming back after arose with the "comeback" aspect bringing it full circle covering the whole story.

May 29, 2022 It’s decent abstracted, problem is it’s the only above average level wordplay on the whole project & it means absolutely nothing lol. People in here are saying he’s at peak writing levels all the time yet never have any evidence to back it up. He’s on a lyrical decline & anyone who’s not still star-struck can see it.

May 30, 2022 You're approaching this as if you're doing a scientific paper. You quote a few lines you think are dumb, but I can say they're great. Who is in the right? I've been a fan of Eminem since 2000 and I've lost interest in many artists, shows, etc, that I liked since then. If Eminem didn't continue to impress me I would have given up on him like I gave up on South Park. The overall vibe is that he's still impressive and clever. You may pick and choose a few dumb lines, but you're being intelectually dishonest.

If you think those examples are good bars then you’re either a Stan who can see no wrong when it comes to Em - or you’ve never listened to another rapper in your life. Even Lil Wayne’s throwaway punches are better. The whole point of me asking you to tell me what the best punchlines & schemes are in Side B, was to prevent the rhetoric that you’ve just come to claiming I’m being “intellectually dishonest” by “picking the few(?) dumb lines” yet you never provided anything like I asked. That’s not my fault. It’s also not my fault there is 100+ half-assed teenage writing level puns on Side B for reactors to pretend to love in the moment with hardly any content to back it up, but at least it sounds good. May 30, 2022 I love most of these! Like I said, if it's lighthearted you equate it with corny. Eminem is goofy and I love him for it. Your favorite rapper can't make The Ringer or Premonition when it's time to get serious.
