Aug 7, 2021 See? This is what I'm talking about. And I really enjoy Stevie's content. He's always been upfront about the fact he doesn't listen to Em on a regular basis and yet he still thinks he's one of the GOATs. Objectively at #1 but he prefers to vibe to other rappers' music. But, what most of us in here think was an average verse, to him (and most YouTube reaction channels) was a great verse and "washed Nas". I agree Em's verse was better than Nas' but still, knowing what Eminem is (or was?) capable of doing, it felt underwhelming, specially the first part. As long as Youtube and Hip-Hop Twitter continue to be in awe with this type of s---, we'll never get great content (or maintaining the same flow and cadence throughout the same beat) from Em again.
Aug 7, 2021 That's not even the problem. The problem is people wishing someone went back to drugs, when he worked his a--- off to stay sober, just because they think that's what's going to make them come up with great music again. There's things that are above music. Like personal well-being and health?. If the only way for Em to do the music we loved from him is to go back to drugs, then I'd rather he retired. Sober and clean.
Aug 7, 2021 Yeah the idea of thinking Em should go back to drugs to make music you enjoy is f---ing r-----ed
Aug 7, 2021 Yeah, I know. Just saying that drugs didn't only make his music better, they also made it worse.
Aug 7, 2021 I'd much rather entertain the idea of him going back to work with the Bass Brothers and Dre. I think that's a much healthier way of thinking and it can actually be backed up with evidence. Unlike this stupid idea that drugs are what make artists create better art.
Aug 7, 2021 Infinite(the song), Sslp, Mmlp, Tes, Relapse, Bad guy 4th verse, Half of Kamikaze, Lord Above, Adv of Moon man and Slim - Eminem was on ecstasy. Revival, Encore, Epmd 2, No favors, Right for Me - Eminem was sober. Coincidence? Doubt it.
Aug 7, 2021 Where did you get this idea that he went back to ecstasy in Half of Kamikaze, Lord Above, Adventures of Moon Man and Slim? He's been sober for 13 years as far as I know.
Aug 7, 2021 It's too complex to explain, requires a lot of text to be written. I'll answer tomorrow, cause it's night here and I'm too sleepy.
Aug 7, 2021 I really hope all comments about wanting Em to take ecstasy again are making for fun, because want a fiftyish father to take a ecstasy is f---ing stupid.
Aug 7, 2021 I agree it elevated the music somewhat but still suffers from the same issues, it just impacts the full product less. It’s hard for someone to honestly deny this rappity rap s--- has finished its course & that it’s time to move on.
