May 30, 2022 Yeah this is sadly true. MMLP2 is lyrically multiple levels above any of his recent albums. I don’t necessarily think his skill as a lyricist has declined since then - I think he spends less time writing for a project than he did back then with MMLP2, and he chooses more obvious (cringey/simple) puns with his writing now, instead of slick metaphors. Not saying he doesn’t do the latter, it’s just more rare now. Its my biggest gripe with Em’s music now. Why’s he gotta ruin s--- with pointless dad jokes? I love Em but MTBMB was a step backwards lyrically. The most annoying thing is that he’s capable of it still i.e Darkness - he just caters to casual listeners & reactors (worst thing that’s happened in a while for Em) by giving them surface level s--- & easy punchlines I really hope he stays away from this lazy writing on his next album. If he can combine the writing from MMLP2 & the production & aggression from Kamikaze & MTBMB then we’re in for a treat.

May 30, 2022 I want an album that sounds good, even if it's less technical. He just keeps on letting people know he still can rap instead of making something enjoyable and that people will keep on coming back to.
May 30, 2022 Why does it take Boogie so long to drop anyway, i remember him posting he played the album for Em like a year ago. Did he just scrap it and rework it completely? Everything for Sale came out January 2019.
