Jun 14, 2022 Relapse only at number 1 on peoples lists because of it being disliked and not being looked as a great album from across the board. Feel like people put it as number 1 album to make a point more than anything that it is a great album, which it is. It’s sonically his best but it has a fair few issues and I don’t see how it’s ahead of EmShow or MMLP. Strong case to have it ahead any of his other albums but no chance it’s his best album.

If that were the case, then Revival would be more loved by bigger pockets of the fanbase. edit to add: But for me, it grew on me over the last 5-6 years. I can recognize the great production on most of the tracks, and see it as a “journey inside the mind of a serial killer” concept.
Jun 14, 2022 Literally the only reason why I love Relapse and especially why I fell in love in it when I first listened to it is because it's nostalgic and kinda reminiscent of old Em. Always saw it as a sort of SSLP2. So it's beyond me how somebody could consider his best album a project that clearly tries to imitate (in his own, new way) his old best projects. Still fire anyway and it's even more beyond me why so many people hate it so much
