You aren’t catching everything he’s saying let alone understanding his double entendres. It doesn’t sound great first listen but eventually gets better. And not everyone will give it more than one spin, hence all they hear is 30% indecipherable lyrics Em’s regular tempo stuff is fine — you’d never have an issue hearing everything first listen in Till I collapse lol. And that’s how it should be really
Aug 11, 2021 Especially when a lot of the times when he's fast rapping his vocals are wrestling with the beat selection. But that's why MTBMB worked so well, he managed to choose (for the most part) the correct marriage of production for his delivery.

Aug 11, 2021 The frustrating thing about Em is that it’s not as if he’s just some washed up rapper who simply can’t make music that hits anymore or lost his ability to rap(only time this happened to him was his depression period post encore). It’s all his decision making and not having the right people around to steer him in a less tone deaf direction. We see his glimpses of brilliance where gets everything right, then he’ll have songs or verses that makes you go “why are you rapping like this? why are you choosing this beat?”. It’s self sabotage.

Aug 11, 2021 Fast rapping does not = bad verse or song. Time and a place for it, granted it’s becoming overplayed now. But Rap God, Godzilla and Chlora remix was perfect timing for it and hype moment when first hearing it. All good songs and verses too. All preference I guess. Personally find Lord Above boring and not enjoyable to listen too but Adventures Of Moon Man one of his best, guest verses ever and that’s a slower style. Just needs a unique take on that kind of style if he slows down again like AOMMAS
