Jun 28, 2022 Boogie's album not doing well is purely down to how the industry is in 2022. Anyone who was ever going to know about the album dropping knew about it. The problem is that he didn't gain any new fans. There are no 3 month album rollouts anymore. Nowadays it's "Here's my new album, it releases in 2 weeks" The whole "it's because it's Shady Records" that you 16 year olds are spewing is nonsense. We are in different times.
Jun 28, 2022 For who's benefit? If you like Boogie then enjoy the music, if you don't like it then don't listen. Why do sales affect how you view an artist?
Jun 28, 2022 Honestly now that I think about it...Holy s--- this mf is spitting. Like I'm thinking about it, and like when Dawn FM released mf gave a 3 day heads up and then just dropped it. Me, never listening to more than 3 songs by him, listened to the whole project and now I'm a Weeknd Dickrider. I've been anticipating Boogie's new album since like 2019, and I still haven't listened to it.
Jun 28, 2022 Eminem really could of had a fairly decent record label if he actually invested a little bit of time. slaughterhouse Griselda Yelawolf Boogie Grip Re-up 2 could of been pretty d--- decent . And it takes nothing for Eminem to pen a 16 bar verse. If they would of all band together and worked as a team shady records could of been pretty solid
Jun 28, 2022 Eminem Stylish Fun fact she works for Shady Records for a long time https://instagram.com/boonylicious?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Jun 28, 2022 Over the years peoples attention spans decreased, so unless an artist drops at least once a year and stays active with stuff like features, they’ll be forgotten
Jun 28, 2022 Yelawolf the realest white boy out.. Shots out to Mack Miller and MGK, you can't f--- with him... The South running this s---...
Jun 28, 2022 Pretty much this. Even huge-named artists aren’t selling great first week anymore. The landscape has changed. Don’t expect really anyone to sell a million first week again.
Jun 28, 2022 Also, when Slaughterhouse album flopped Eminem took the blame from fans for adding his touches and making it more radio friendly as much as he felt he could without tarnishing their sound. He took the blame and he never handled his artist's projects too much. Hence why he hasn't even been an executive producer on the last few SR releases
Jun 28, 2022 It's weird seeing a mainstream label doing this bad. At least Slaughterhouse and Yela made a bit of noise.
Jun 28, 2022 I gotta disagree here G. Kendrick proved the opposite. Frank Ocean proves the opposite. f---in Wheezer proved the opposite. Even Cardi B hasn't dropped a real single since 2020 I think? That was WAP?
Jun 28, 2022 Music is so oversaturated right now and every song every artist is at the tip of your fingertips
Jun 28, 2022 Yela was most notable for me personally, and it was because of Love Story. Good f---ing album man. I think the reason Yela stuck around in terms of popularity was because he consistently has released quality music. Like Trunk Muzik 3(?) was lacking a bit creatively imo, it was still a quality listen.
