Jul 2, 2022 That's why it was a good idea to drop it with a video. I would rather watch the video than bump the song. It sucks, but he's right about the song. The rest of the video is just silly hate. Now Side B, that did sound good and replayable imo, at least most of it. He should have released more singles/videos.
Jul 2, 2022 I remember posting this before that since Side B his lyrics have become a shallow caricature of his previous glory. His flow's gotten stale, his simmered-down delivery is pretty much the same in each new song and he even keeps using the same gimmicks and content in every song. Each new song of his would have a line about how he's rich now and how he has so many 'hits' followed by a simile. It's especially tragic considering how he's evolved on every record up until Side A. On D 2 LBC, this style of his actually works but he's more likely to fail with this formula than not. I genuinely hope that CC2 is an indication of him reinventing his music and kicking it into Phase 4 afterwards.
Jul 2, 2022 Authenticity is the right word for the thing his music is lacking. Everything about him, whether it's the autistic wordplay, the fast rapping, or his delivery in general, seems so forced and unnatural, even to the point of sounding robotic. I can almost sympathize with the clone conspiracy theorists, except a clone isn't the first thing that comes to mind when I think of a possible replacement. I mean, at least a clone would be human, right? He's a f---ing robot.
Jul 3, 2022 Lord Above is pretty underrated. Just heard it again. No fast s---, just calm rapping, dope song
