Jul 24, 2022 Yeah. Why they’re doing it for the reasons I said. First week sales don’t mean anything to a label any more or it being a money maker. Just a bragging right for an artist if they care about that which I doubt Em does. Sales will only ever get lower as years go by like it’s been showing in the last 5 years. Streams and bundling in merch with a release of a product for a quick buck is what they’re looking at, with NFT creeping in as well. All geared too money unfortunately. First week sales is nothing but talking point for people who are obsessed with numbers now. Not important like it used to be or how too determine if it’s good or popular. If Em sells 80k or 300k, it doesn’t really matter. If they sell out their merch and bundles for money with a cash grab release, then thumbs up from everyone involved.
