But I don't agree that opposing views gives people the right to be assholes themselves. It makes them just as stupid (like, except when someone is just 100% wrong ofc)
Aug 30, 2022 I do feel, and I say this all the time, the newer generations (those who are like 10 or 5 years old now, and the ones after that) will be completely different to any of us. I see it among my friend's children. The way they behave, they interact, etc. What they watch on TV or YouTube is completely different to what we were exposed to when we were their age. Their minds will be wide open. They won't have to struggle with racism, sexism, etc. They may have other difficulties since it's not safe to go outside and play with your friends in the streets anymore, so they rely on technology to entertain themselves. So interaction will be different, I feel they'll be more reclusive or colder between each other. But they'll have a lot more respect for everybody.

The left use movements to force social, political & economic justice because the right-wing in power don’t do it without civil unrest which is a form of structural violence in itself & then within the civil unrest they use the police & national guard (state instruments of power) to commit violence & suppress these movements & the left gets blamed… for violence. They’ve got it completely backwards.

Aug 30, 2022 I think thats also a huge difference between us even if our ages arent that far apart. I was not raised online, and honestly irl this s--- never happens (to me at least). I don't ever interact with extreme left or right people because they aren't worth my time. But online you're kinda exposed to the worst people all the time, regardless of their views. Thats probably why I am less interested in all these things, because its mostly a online thing and I didn't grew up on that. Btw not an insult to either one of is, just an observation!
