Oct 8, 2022 #Rihanna2023, better believe it. We might get another Shady Bowl thanks to her And the new album by Em of course
Oct 8, 2022 Denzel’s sales don’t surprise me, he’s never been a sales giant plus it’s a deluxe. Cudi’s sales don’t surprise me either, he shouldn’t have pissed off the Ye stans
Oct 8, 2022 I love old Cudi, but I don't like his new albums. He's also acting weird lately. Not as much as Ye though.
Oct 8, 2022 100% It's becoming harder for artists to live off of their music because of the oversaturation like you say and the way people consume their content. Royalties are a joke now. Artists have no choice but to spend their time touring. When you had a good song your song would play on TV, on the radio. Then people would go out and buy your CD. Artists planned their releases stratigically much more than they do today making sure they don't go head to head with another popular artist. If you take popular hiphop artists in 2022 and compare them to just 15 years ago. Take 2008 for example. First week numbers Snoop Dogg – Ego Trippin’ - 137, 000 Nas - Untitled - 187, 0000 Rick Ross - Trilla - 198, 000 Ludacris – Theater of the Mind - 214, 000 Plies – Definition of Real - 239, 000 Young Jeezy - The Recession - 260, 000 Kanye West – 808s & Heartbreak - 460, 000 T.I. – Paper Trail - 568, 000 Lil Wayne - Carter III - 1,005,545 50K would be considered absolute dog s--- for any big rapper. Either the way of calculating sales now is f----- because they don't reflect exactly what they would respresent in physical sales or it's oversaturation. Probably a mix of both. Music can't be appreciated the way it used to that's for sure. One because of the insane amount and two because you can just stream one song, go to the next. Skip to another artist, skim through a few songs on Spotify, go on Youtube etc... It is what it is
Oct 8, 2022 Been checking first week sales for random years and f---ing Tony Yayo was selling 215, 000 copies first week in 2005 https://beats-rhymes-lists.com/sales/biggest-hip-hop-album-first-week-sales-of-2005/
Oct 8, 2022 It even works sometimes Let's just pray for Em to do something next year and keep being active out there but hopefully doing more music related stuff this time and performing from the stage again
Oct 8, 2022 You are 100% right, Eminem makes terrible albums without a good producer. someone has to control what he releases. when he gets out of control, he releases his worst work. i chose 12 best songs out of 36 for my MTBMB playlist. if this album had these 12 songs it would be a new classic, but 36 songs are too many, half of which are not of good quality.
