Nov 6, 2022 It's kind of mad that people criticise Eminem for not being immersed in the "culture". I mean, just look at the extensiveness of his influence on rap in general. Then he goes and lists a bunch of names from A-Z like that. The guy is literally a rap historian, as well as the best selling rapper of all time and one of the most skilled and entertaining, especially in his prime. But because he doesn't go on Revolt and get drunk or have a breakfast club interview he's not worthy of being mentioned in the culture or something. Imo he's definitely a shell of what he used to be but he doesn't deserve the constant lack of respect he catches from people in the game. I think it just boils down to jealousy and his skin tone tbh.
Nov 6, 2022 i mean he’s 50. What sober 50 year old is the same as they where in their drugged out 20-30’s
Nov 6, 2022 Gotta love when fans make up imaginary arguments to further praise the man. Em gets way more respect from the culture than he gets disrespect. And getting a certain amount of hate is expected when you're the #1 selling artist. Doesn't matter who it is. I bet if every single person in the game would worship Em there would still be some fans who would say "Em doesn't get enough credit" when he already has every accolade imaginable and the respect from all the legendary artists you could imagine.
Nov 6, 2022 Not to mention in the actual tribute video after being inducted Jay is there shouting out EMS flow on the way I am.
Nov 6, 2022 Pretty sure the post you're quoting was mainly referring to rappers who diss or have dissed Eminem just because he's a top selling artist and white. Jamar, Snoop, Budden to name a few.
Nov 6, 2022 Eminem gets respect from actual Rap pioneers and Emcees. It’s mainly younger twitter users that think he is corny. Also a lot of envious people like the Game and Benzino back in the day.but as far as accolades and impact in the mainstream Rap culture , it’s always gonna be Jay and Em. No matter how much random hip hop heads try to discredit, you can’t argue with facts. Em made waves and always pays respect and homage. Since day 1 till now
Nov 6, 2022 I mean you’re not wrong . Everyone wants the number 1 spot. You either kneel to the person on the throne or you go for their crown . Nobody is perfect, everyone is disliked by someone no matter who you are or what you do
Nov 6, 2022 let's just enjoy what's left for this grandpa I don't think he's going to rap at 57-60 yo, and I can't see him dropping a project every year for the next 10 years. That means we maybe got a couple of more albums left. Let's not waste it Marshall
Nov 6, 2022 Nas’s story telling ability is top tier. He’s so god d--- boring to listen to though . I respect his pen game and how long he’s lasted in the game . But you’ve heard one nas song you’ve heard them all .
Nov 6, 2022 Well it’s been a great year to look back, re-release some classics and soak up the plaudits deservedly so. Now that we got all that out of the way, the only way forward is new music before the world tour and Glastonbury headline slot. This past year been amazing if you are zganstga or new to Em’s music and I don’t deny his well earned victory lap year but I think we can all agree that new s--- coming next year and it’s going to be an upgrade on this one. Maybe we get something for the anniversary of the peloton drop
Nov 6, 2022 I really feel like Eminem has a major album coming next year. And he used this entire year from front to back as promo.
Nov 6, 2022 Let’s not play Nas down now. He got classics going back to when you were in nappies. From Halftime to The Message to If I ruled the World to Ether to Rewind to Worlds an addiction to Get Down to s---t em up to Street Dreams. Nas a f---ing goat compared to the bs dropping these days This underrated b-----r with Kanye too
