They used this as a celebrative year and it's been useful to gain more popularity across new gen (Em's reaching 60M monthly listeners on Spotify). This comic strip is another sort of advertising, they'll push him to the limit until the next album, that's what they're doing since Super Bowl.
Nov 21, 2022 the only reason his listeners on spotify increasing is because some songs trending on tik tok, his team hasn't done anything to "advertise" him this year and surely merchandise is not a way to advertise an artist especially when they don't come with new music, his team is all about money that's why they have milked every album anniversary in the past 2-3 years and released overpriced merch. Hopefully in 2023 we'll get an album though.
