Dec 9, 2022 I dont think ill ever understand the publics love for drake, to me hes super unlikeable. Not just musically, dude goes to toronto raptors games and acts like such a f---ing clown. Hes just so generically boring and bland in every possible way, but the public eats him up. His music is f---ing atrocious, which doesnt surprise me why the public and people like @Marsh think hes so good. Em gets clowned for bars yet drakes bars are god awful over and ovet again. Hotling bling was on some super fa---- s---, so im not surprised it blew up. Was literally the definition of trash.
Dec 9, 2022 Dude’s just another edgelord on the internet. No different than anyone on this forum. Dumbasses made him famous
Dec 9, 2022 Drake is the Ed Sheeran of rap, he knows who to collaborate with and it's inoffensive to the point of popularity. I think Drake has some genuinely pretty good songs but he acts way too cringe for his age and the music has been boring for a while (although I think like half of the new album is decent). But I'm talking on a thread about a 50yo man who said he was playing Fortnite with my grandma on his last album so who am I to complain about maturity in music lmao.
Dec 9, 2022 Isn’t Andrew Tate that dude who is only famous for making edgy comments online? Also Em hasn’t even talked publicly about Hailie in like 15 years. Is he just mad that Mockingbird is a certified hit song right now. Lmfao. Just saying there is a lot of words that rhyme with Tate
Dec 9, 2022 Admittedly I like Drake's older music, i.e. 09-13 (mainly for nostalgic reasons, TC is a classic to me), but his recent popularity is a reflection of modern society. Bland, often mindless, cookie cutter, consumerist, easily accessible bs. 95% of his catalogue lacks any soul and introspect. There's nothing groundbreaking, nothing new. As @jankland said he's basically the Ed Sheeran of rap at this point. Kids born after 97 haven't been exposed to good mainstream music at all, and they won't look beyond what's trending on TikTok or past popular memes to find it.
Dec 9, 2022 Stop lying s---, you’re just mad they are 10 times better than the guest verses Em is giving us these days
Dec 9, 2022 The fact with Drake is that he's become a copy and paste. His songs are always the same pattern, same kind of beat with the same drums with the same flow and same voice setting. Can see why he's local, outside the US he got no mass appeal
Dec 9, 2022 but that’s Beyoncé and she already came from a flop collab album and other flop soundtracks for Disney Her worst album imo btw
Dec 9, 2022 Well, he has tried rap, R&B, pop, dancehall, Reggaeton, bachata, drill, British Drill. That’s a couple of different styles and beats for me
Dec 9, 2022 What? We talking about Forever? Not what came after it. Eminems verse was only decent verse on that song.
