Jan 13, 2023 Kamikaze and mtbmb are fine albums. Not great or classic, but the whole 'em sux after TES' is just a gimmick. He changed, yes. He made horrible music, yes. But also lots of good stuff even lately.
Jan 13, 2023 It’s not a gimmick. I wasn’t trying to make my paragraphs any bigger than they were so I’ll specify here: 70% of the time after TES, Eminem sucks. He does have a bunch of good songs after TES which I’ve stated many times before but then I get called an Eminem hater whenever I make criticisms so I stopped posting nuanced opinions on here because they still get treated as extremes anyway...so what’s the point? Most of his music post TES has horrible flows because he’s too focused on accentuating every syllable to make them sound like they rhyme more. This ends up making him sound robotic and try-hard. On top of that, he often uses bad punchlines, corny puns, dad jokes, etc. He also has a terrible ear for beats most of the time. Kamikaze and MTBMB are mediocre albums at best. I’d get rid of half of Kamikaze… if I have to get rid of half the songs on an album to enjoy it, it’s not a good album. Most of the people on this forum were cutting up the tracklist of MTBMB and replacing Side A songs with Side B songs or vice versa in order to try to get a good album… I don’t know about you but that’s not a great sign to me.
Jan 13, 2023 The next Eminem album is make or break for me. After 2022, I’m just not a fan of him anymore. I’m willing to give the next album a chance though. If I don’t like the next album, then I’m just going to be done with Eminem. I can’t keep getting excited for mediocre album after mediocre album. If you like his new music that’s fine, I like some of it too. Most of it I just don’t feel anymore.
