Getting below 100k first week was fine for Side B, but if he gets below 100k on his next brand new album after this whole Super Bowl s--- and this whole Curtain Call 2 s--- it’s gonna be a pretty bad look tbh. It would be hilarious if Paramore outsold.
Mar 11, 2023 He’d have to beat 64k first week sales. This is all just a prediction, but with his 4th surprise drop, I wouldn’t be surprised if he just barely beats that with 70k. Whether Em cares about sales or not, his team and the media definitely does. I can already see the articles being written now if the album doesn’t sell well. They’d better hope all the Curtain Call 2 promotion worked or Em needs to have a good first single

Typically these surprise releases and Eminem’s new music in general gets a lot of sales over the year rather than getting a lot of sales first week, which is why CC2 is just now going platinum. The problem is the media/social media puts a lot of emphasis on first week sales still (which is outdated imo, the number of streams over time should be what’s looked at)
