Apr 6, 2023 I doubt his next album is actually going to be a spiritual successor to Kamikaze. They already made fun of the idea of a Kamikaze 2 on the original Kamikaze. Besides, he has nothing to be angry about anymore in terms of criticism… at least not anything different than what he would’ve been angry about in 2017 and 2018. He already talked about the critics more on MTBMB. Plus, rehashing attacks at “mumble rap” will just seem forced. I think the next album is more likely to be similar to a combination of MTBMB sides A and B. I think it’s possible he will include more Relapse-esque styles on it as well. He’s been playing with that Relapse style again since “Framed” from Revival, it just doesn’t have the accents anymore. I don’t think this new album will have a drastic new sound or anything like that as something of that nature is highly unlikely this late into an artist’s career. It’s possible though.

Apr 6, 2023 I think it will be a more introspective album. Man has a lot of s--- to look back on. The clues are in the lyrics they used on the social media posts: "It's like the walls are closin' in/ You can't help me, no one can" “I have been sent here to destroy you” I guess we’ll find out in just under 17 hours anyway.
Apr 6, 2023 That’s a good theory especially since he turned 50 not too long ago. That along with all the events he’s done and the things that’s happened in the past few years could make him wanna be more introspective. On the other hand, I also have doubt he will get super introspective since most of his new music just hasn’t felt that introspective… but that could work both ways since maybe he was saving all the introspection for this. Who knows… like you said we’ll have to wait and see
Apr 6, 2023 Yeah Kamikaze was just him spitting and going at people, MTBMB was showcasing his rap skills. He probably wanted to take his time with the album after that and actually say some stuff/make meaningless music that will last like his earlier stuff. Or my theory could be completely wrong and he just drops another album of bangers with lyrical gymnastics

Apr 6, 2023 Em’s next album will have a different style than we’ve heard from him, I’m confident in that. I think he’s been recording non stop for the most part but taking his time to make this a solid cohesive album. Ever since Revival he’s been recording and releasing projects quickly. Historically he has a new sound with each album especially when he has a long break in between Infinite sounds way diff than SSLP SSLP sounds way diff than TES/Encore Relapse sounds way diff than Encore Recovery sounds way diff than Recovery MMLP2 style is a lot diff than Recovery He sound during 2015 eta Southpaw/Shady XV sounds a lot different than Kamikaze but it seems since Kamikaze the change isn’t that different aside from him using that low tone calm voice on a lot of Side B
