They are just using that old sales battle as an example of how rare it is for 2 big rappers to release on the same day, so much so that they think it hasn’t happened since 50 vs Kanye. No one said they’re gonna sell more than the old battle or that it’s more important/better than the old battle

Jun 5, 2023 I cant believe ive been bumping a country album for the past few days lol Been a big jelly roll fan during his rap career, hated his debut country album my first go through but this s----s pretty good, his voice is mesmerizing almost at times. Much different than the trash country singers like morgan wallen are putting out Theres a yelawolf feature on the new country album and @eminemshadyslim yelawolf name drops eminem on the album!!!!!
Jun 5, 2023 I've had a similar experience with a band named Big Thief, although that album is more alternative country/americana. Either way finding s--- outside of mainstream country that's actually good is a huge W cause it's been a dying art for like 50 years lmao

Jun 5, 2023 Uzi and Travis aren’t as big as older big rappers were, but they are big for today’s standards. Big rappers used to sell like 1 million first week now they usually only sell like 100k-150k first week Uzi and Travis are some of my favs. I’m surprised you like some Travis songs. I can’t think of any Uzi songs you’d like

Jun 5, 2023 For me country is good here and there but my favorites that I've heard other than Big Thief are the classics like Johnny Cash and Willie Nelson. Jolene by Dolly is also a classic and Think Before He Cheats by Carrie Underwood is a very very rare guilty pleasure lol.
Jun 5, 2023 I felt the same, I'm probably also gonna get through all of the most celebrated albums Radiohead and The Beatles, some Beach Boys, Pink Floyd etc. But it's hard for me to get in an album mood lately, really happy I'm back in it though. I also need to listen to all the classic grunge albums too, like I adore Nirvana, Alice In Chains, etc but I don't think I've listened to a full album front to back for some reason.

Jun 5, 2023 I relate to that, I go through that sometimes too. Like listening to an album can be such an experience and if you aren’t truly present or feeling like paying attention during your first listen it can kinda f--- it up, especially if there’s a lot of tracks. And then if you really like an album, you kinda wanna live with it for a few days and let it simmer in your mind rather than just moving on to another new album, but if you do that you’re missing out on more new music that’ll get added to the already long list. It can become such a chore sometimes that I’d rather just listen to music I’m familiar with so I don’t have to use as much brain power lol
