Jun 18, 2023 I'm over the rappity rap phase and overly complex rhyme schemes he's been doing for the past decade +. It's time to slow it down and bring back a little substance. But I really like the production and choruses on MTBMB A/B. Sonically it's a major improvement over his passed few albums. I'd even say it's his best produced album since Relapse. But I still have an issue with his rapping and content overall.

Jun 18, 2023 I think Ems technical/lyrical ability peaked on mmlp2,Ik not all the songs were perfect but comparing anything on side B to MMLP 2 the contrast in each line is crazy.
Jun 18, 2023 What concept do you even want from Em at this point? He had Relapse and Recovery just cause that's what he was going through. Then used the pandemic for Gnat and the Cudi collab. Even BLM for the horrible Untouchable and the state of America for the amazing Revival. Dude has nothing to rap about left unless something happens that inspires, he has said it multiple times.

Jun 18, 2023 He could rap about the life cycle of a f---ing plant. There's an infinite amount of things he can rap about. Sweatshops in china? Healthcare? Or write a 5 minute song about some fictional character he read about in a book. Just gotta think outside the box which you don't do very often.

Jun 18, 2023 That’s the problem sometimes with artists who make their music all about the problems in their lives and use their music as therapy. If your life gets better, you feel as if you have nothing to talk about anymore even if that’s not actually the case. You also feel as if changing what your music is about might alienate fans. That’s why artists have to take risks, but at this stage in Em’s career I don’t see him taking too many risks.
