Jun 21, 2023 We like his voice and the catchiness of the songs. We like how personal and raw his songs could be. We like the versatility, and he could rap well when he wanted to. Despite his versatility at times, he mainly made emo rap which is much easier to like if you’re depressed. Unless you're part of the younger generation, it can be hard to understand why we like this music. It can also be hard to describe why we like it. Something about it just resonates with us

Jun 21, 2023 Not to sound rude but im truly glad i grew up when i did and not in the depressed generation. I always find it amazing the difference between people in their teens and 20s compared to when i was in my teens and 20s. Only real difference in society is cell phones and social media. I know im sorta centering on one topic of your post but i do feel like thats why a lot of these new rappers are popular, or new musicians in general because they relate with people being depressed.

Jun 21, 2023 Your point is valid but a reason parents aren't parents is because of the internet. Cause other than that theres no other difference besides technology. Parents would rather stuff their kids face in an ipad so they can do the same then actually have fun with them or teach them things. Then the kid turns into a crackhead digesting tiktok or other social media. I place a lot of blame on the new gens depression on social media. Youre constantly consuming news, bad news, scary news, political news and most of that s----s depressing and its an overload. Society hasnt really changed much from 20 years ago besides the internet. Anyways i love talking about this stuff, my gf gets defensive and angry when i do (a lot of people do) cause they hate hearing that their social media addiction isnt healthy lol
