Jul 31, 2023 Facts . Artists need to figure out a creative way to release music . Back when I had to pay for a cd I listened to it at least twice no matter how bad it was .(I knew how to burn cds yes. But I liked collecting cds)
Jul 31, 2023 Yeah true. I don’t know how they would do that though. The internet and streaming have really oversaturated music. Unless you only follow a few artists, there’s no time to breathe between new releases anymore. Plus, everyone and their grandmother releases music now and a lot of them do it OFTEN. With the way the system is set up, we’re quite literally programmed to listen to an album once, put the songs we like most on a playlist, and move on to the next album. It’s kind of sad how fast everything moves now. There’s no time to actually soak in an album in an enriching way unless you want your back catalogue of music you have to listen to to continue growing. And then there’s the rise of AI music…

Jul 31, 2023 Yeah, it’s almost like music that’s designed to appeal to the largest audiences possible while being written to be extremely catchy stays on the charts longer than experimental music or music with deeper themes. I’m shocked that Kendrick Lamar’s album about his therapeutic/spiritual journey while working through generations of black trauma isn’t still topping the charts right now.
