Countercultures are often described as radical groups of people who reject established social values and practices and who embrace a mode of life opposed to the mainstream. 'radical' is subjective for one; what's radical to one person is not to another, and summizing the zeitgeist, the 'norm', is always an estimation, by anyone. But even taken that concept as read, you implied the wrong side are the counterculture. The 'norm' is not implying constant oppression and 'microaggressions', if anything is radical - it's that.
