Feb 9, 2024 I guess you could say that. I see why people find the songs similar but I don’t think it really had the same energy as Godzilla. It did serve the same purpose as Godzilla though, I’ll give you that. Godzilla had the same bouncy beat and faster tempo all throughout with a popular artist on the hook. Gnat had 3 different beat switches, was slower, and only had Eminem on the hook. Both songs did have a speed verse though, although Godzilla was still faster. Gnat had a lot less hit potential than Godzilla, but it doesn’t matter much since it’s a deluxe anyway. I think he’ll probably try something even closer to Godzilla again. Dua Lipa wouldn’t be a bad pick for the hook.
Feb 9, 2024 yeah, it's been clear for a while now that his songs have been doing better with someone else on the hook (unless you wanna count venom? that one did pretty well right?) by doing well I mean popularity and s---, not the quality of the song itself
Feb 9, 2024 Yeah Venom did pretty well although I think being attached to the movie definitely helped it as well as being attached to the controversial Kamikaze album. It also helped that it was one of the most memorable Eminem hooks in a while (for me it’s memorable because I find it horrible and annoying but plenty of people liked it I guess). Eminem’s hook game just isn’t that strong these days so it usually works out better when he gets another artist to do it
Feb 9, 2024 Godzilla is a certified hit and the 5th biggest most streamed Rap song of the 2020’s. Think people don’t realize how big it actually is on streaming. That fast rap part goes viral every few months on tiktok too. Also Fortnite gave it another resurgence. Kinda funny it’s his biggest hit song since venom
