Tranny hasn't ever really been a hateful slur... there's no malice in saying tranny, it's just a shortening and a reference. I've never heard somebody say it hatefully, as in 'YOU f---in TRANNY'... just feels like saying 'YOU f---ing TRANSGENDER!'... it's like 'yeah?'
