Would have been hated for being short, the Jesse tracks that were obvious love songs from the titles and having a song from a movie soundtrack. Kami had to be dropped out of nowhere for it to work imo and he has just carried that on with MTBMB as he always milks something that works until it doesn’t. He could have had MTBMB be announced and hyped up early and people would have been into it but doesn’t do anything for me any more. Is a good feeling listening to a album unexpected from start to finish, true listening experience. With Relapse, Recovery, MMLP2 and Revival. I heard about 3 or 4 songs before the albums came out, ruins the the first time album experience for me. He could announce it early and promote it that way without releasing songs which should be the way to go for next album. So best of both worlds then for people who like the early announcement and people who like surprise drops.
