Apr 3, 2024 Ya im fine with that, i mean he isnt gonna reinvent the wheel at 51. I liked MTBMB, few songs i wasnt fond of but i feel like i see criticism of em and i feel like he cant win. Everyone likes different things about him, so what i want him to do is just say f--- it and make the album he wants, rather than trying to please everyone
Apr 3, 2024 His main problem with his album structure for years now is trying to please every corner of his fanbase, makes every project way less cohesive.
Apr 3, 2024 I feel like big pop artists throw him ideas and songs and pressure him to make those dumb mainstream "hits". Wish he'd really cut out all the filler and just bring the grimy ruckus
Apr 3, 2024 Y'all forgetting something and is that Kamikaze absolutely blew Revival out of the water quality wise and MTBMB is way better than Kamikaze Content and Quality wise, Em actually started to take criticisms and I feel like if he listened to any criticism people had for MTBMB we're in for a better album than MTBMB
Apr 3, 2024 Revival was also a 180 from his output before it because everyone was complaining, so criticism can go either way
Apr 3, 2024 Em has always responded to and cared about criticism. That's what sparked SSEP / new style in response to Infinite being 'tame' and AZ etc. Then I'm sure I read he made MMLP more serious in response to some criticisms of SSLP being a bit 'zany' etc., then with TES he wanted to be taken more seriously as an artist and songwriter, I read that, not just a rapper... Relapse... accents (but hey we love beautiful!) no! = Recovery. Also, I wouldn't say MTBMB is much better than Kam like you're making it out. It has better overall songs, and more of them... and is more musically varied and more... just, in that vein I guess. But, I'd say his writing regressed a little, at least with wordplay etc. there's much better writing on Kamikaze.
Apr 3, 2024 s--- he wrote on the back of MTBMB p cool. Even though a bit corny, at least he tried to stick to a concept and theme.
Apr 3, 2024 Maybe I’ll start buying albums again for the f--- of it. The last time I got a physical album was MMLP2 deluxe for my birthday around the time it came out
Apr 4, 2024 I’ve always loved the aesthetic of MTBMB tbh, always loved the covers, the backs, the photo shoots. Idk it was just always cool to me. When I woke up that morning and saw the cover he posted with the gun and axe to his head (my favorite variant of the cover, alongside the Side B cover of him looking out the window), I knew I was in for a treat. Also the backwards E with the knife in the middle plus the way the title is written is cool. 2020 was a great time to be an Eminem fan, besides being robbed of any potential performances.
Apr 4, 2024 Speaking of performances, it’s crazy he hasn’t had an opportunity to let MTBMB shine live. Godzilla has over 1.4B streams on Spotify ALONE and it hasn’t been able to been performed once and that’s so wild to me
Apr 4, 2024 @BWslays @Shady06 Can you help me figure something out On march 26th bulkorcut stated that the albums already been handed in 9 days later he said hes waiting for Taylor to drop Taylor drops April 19th, followed by Dua Lipa on may 3rd, which eliminates both dates and anything a week after both of them more than likely Care to explain why eminem handed in an album and now gonna be waiting 2+ months to release it? Atleast 45 potentially 60 days after handing it in In the streaming age he can hand it in now and drop it tomorrow
Apr 4, 2024 No idea! I'd say the main culprit behind that decision is Mr. Paul Rosenberg. The same one who thinks that smart marketing is dropping a teaser and letting everyone get hyped and then disappearing for a week just to repeat the following week.
Apr 4, 2024 You could say the same about going on Jimmy Kimmel and announcing it. Why do that if the album isn't going to come out soon? The fact that they then followed it up by letting us know Dre was listening to it in full, basically confirms it was close to finished. So why do that if they aren't dropping until May?
Apr 4, 2024 Future always sells well, but I would rather listen to his older projects, this one didn’t do anything for me.
