You can understand why Cole apologized while also realizing that it’s stupid. It is cope because where was this “bigger man” energy when Cole took the time to record that track? He is a grown man who knew what he was doing. He already had more than enough opportunity to stop the track from going out. Cole is scared of Kendrick and scared of competition in hip hop when that’s one of the core fundamentals of it. Cole has been asking for smoke every verse for years now. Ain’t no way you’re trying to say what I said is autistic. You’re here saying you respect a grown man for tucking his tail between his legs when he’s the one who signed up for it. What’s “not real hip hop” is taking this competition more seriously than Kendrick himself. No blood was gonna be shed but Cole and his fans are acting like this is some soul draining experience.

But he shouldn't have responded at all, don't beg for smoke for 3 years straight just to back down.
