I don't count Relapse in that, because it was drug induced and he was taking a break / potentially retiring, he was already saying with 'Curtain Call' ('that's why we called it that, it may be the last thing we put out'). Wheras like... Recovery to MMLP2 to MMLP2 to Revival is him like taking a long a--- time and overthinking and making a lot of songs, and both are his biggest messes, with no cohesive sound and some of his worst music ever.

Apr 16, 2024 Because he didn't like the mixed reception he got from Relapse, and felt his mainstream hold may be waning / lost upon return, so panicked and insecurely gave in to populist demands or, assumptions - worked with all the hottest producers at the time and got Rihanna and Pink / super pop stars to prop up his album and rapped purely in a way he thought would maximise mainstream appeal, he said after seeing what Wayne was doing. It's almost the definition of selling out. He changed everything to sell more.
Apr 16, 2024 I think after Recovery, he wanted to release an album on the stature of MMLP and TES so he took his time to make MMLP2. He was satisfied with MMLP2 and it's a success in all aspects, even he felt like there's nothing else to say. MMLP2 was an album he was satisfied enough to call it as his last album if he can't find inspiration to make another album. Then the US elections happened and he felt like he had something to say but it's been 4 years since MMLP2 so he had to make an album that has social commentary AND had to be a hit like Recovery so he featured all of those pop singers who were popular at that time. But now it's different. I think he just took a break after dropping so much music in 2017-2020 and started working on the album like 2 or 1.5 years ago.
