Apr 16, 2024 I don't think it was. Everything we know of from Relpase 2... (Refill...) - Elevator, Buffalo Bill, Drop the Bomb on Em sounds like Relapse 1. Which is great btw, as I love Relapse style. And when asked about it at the time, he said it was 'more of the same'... There's confusion around this because when he started making material for Recovery or what would become Recovery, s--- like Cocaine etc., people think this is Relapse 2 but it ain't. Em himself confirmed many times, in many interviews, all Relapse material was done with Dre. It was all the same batch and sound, with Dre and Mark Batson. They had a sound and a boat load of material. Anything you hear with Denaun or Just Blaze / pop-rap, tin-can 808s and shouty introspection = Recovery, different sessions, and when he started recording with new producers, due to reception to Relapse. Beautiful was also not made for Relapse.
