Just like people would conlfate sinlges with album sales yet plenty of examples where that's not the case - i.e. B.o.B, had 2 global no.1 singles on his debut, and buzz, and yet the s--- sold 84k first week lol. Then you have... Revival - featuring Ed Sheeran, Beyonce; lots of promo, huge fkn city wide billboards n s---... his worst selling, flop (for him). Kamikaze, next album - zero promo, drop out of nowhere - double the sales. The music sells the music. It needs to be good and/or connect. Taylor is selling a cuntload because her s--- is landing still, on a big scale. If it was s---, none of this promo would matter imo. And Em's recent stuff ain't s--- - Kami, 'Murder... some pretty great stuff. But, it's not landing how it was, it's confined to a particular substrate of his fans. Not that I want him to start ttrying to fkn appease people or pop-rap fans again but I just mean... whatever, his content and his styles are not hitting right now, in a major way.
