Apr 26, 2024 Interesting that Eminem is killing off Slim Shady and The Weeknd is killing off The Weeknd character in the same year
Apr 26, 2024 So if this album is the death of slim? What comes next retirement is on the horizon surely..
Apr 26, 2024 To me it'll depend on how this one goes with people, I think if he does well with a concept then he still has 2 or 3 more albums in him or more
Apr 26, 2024 He posted a picture of a dog you f---ing r----- He didn't say the date That way he can spin it whatever way he chooses
Apr 26, 2024 bruh it’s a red herring idk who it was that said it but it would be cool if it was slim shady who killed Eminem in a uno reverse card
Apr 26, 2024 Yeah I get that, I just don't see this being very radio friendly album, purely for the fans just by the name anyway
Apr 26, 2024 I wish it wasn’t. He seriously needs to k--- off Slim Shady already. The character is barely even a character anymore. He’s been boiled down to just a guy who says “offensive” things
Apr 26, 2024 Why would he be killing off an alter ego if not to usher in a new era? Which was stated by Paul on the release of Curtain Call 2. Think about it: Eminem has been stuck in constant limbo, unable to stick to a theme, concept etc. in a ying & yang situation where he’s going back & forth between the post-Relapse version of himself & attempts to spark the Slim Shady style back up. By taking a bold approach with killing off the character completely, & officially with this album, he has to move on to a new artistic direction. There’d be no point in killing off his alter ego then retiring, it’s illogical.
Apr 26, 2024 I must be d outta my mind because this shouldn't be nearly as funny as it is to me right now LFG boys, single when and will it be 'Bye, My Name Was'?
Apr 26, 2024 The flat voice and bland delivery most of all killed any chance of that impression for me. In Deja Vu his detached approach to a very serious subject was much better executed, back when he naturally used his voice almost as a musical instrument in itself. In Black Magic (and in most Side B songs) he's basically just talking in this almost mumbling, monotone drone, and I don't find him convincing at all. The Colin Kaepernick line is another problem. Even if I try to look past the dryness of his vocals it immediately takes me right out of the song. He did the same thing in Little Engine, which came so close to being a decent nod to Encore and Relapse weirdness until he just had to go and ruin it by shouting out that pampered pube-headed little brat.
Apr 26, 2024 But who the f--- wants a plain Eminem? He's not that great without shady I don't think anyway, I hope he could do more but time will tell
Apr 26, 2024 I fear that the whole killing shady thing is just shock value that will amount to nothing, hopefully not but he never was good at following a concept all the way through
Apr 26, 2024 Yeah there’s been quite a few. I’ve lost count now but there was a couple that were just revised versions of the same clone, like the one from 2002-2007. The current one was first seen in 2020.
