Apr 30, 2024 I agree that it almost feels like he purposely avoids sounding the way he did. MMLP2 was a marketing ploy. It has Paul Rosenberg written all over it. That album sounds nothing like MMLP. If anything the songs Em produced on it (Brainless, Baby, So Much Better..) sound more like TES production than they do MMLP.
Apr 30, 2024 There's something to be said about his singing too, how it's gotten worse over the years or maybe it's me being nostalgic but some of the singing hooks post relapse are absolute dog s--- on otherwise pretty good songs
Apr 30, 2024 Doesn't give me a link to said sources but I guess it's a pretty popular rumor, doesn't mean it's true or not tho
Apr 30, 2024 Anyway I've found a lot of s--- stating a couple of different reasons why Em doesn't work with the Bass brothers anymore, take your pick: -Em told them he wanted to try different sounds and s--- -Disputes over royalties and publishing rights regarding Em's music -Em wanting to get clean and them being alcoholics/drug users For the last one, the one that I love repeating so much, I couldn't find a source, it's one of those popular rumors like Just Blaze not working with Em anymore because he got butthurt for being criticized
Apr 30, 2024 You, would you kindly tell me what you expect from this album? realistically I mean, not hopefully, do you expect another mtbmb with a shallow concept? maybe something like that but better?
Apr 30, 2024 He used to do most of his hooks but now relies on other singers to do them. So he might've lost his touch a little bit. Let's be real too. The guy is in his 50s now so it's probably not just nostalgia lol My problem with Em is still the way that he raps. Half of it is an easy fix because it's the way that he chooses to mix his vocals. And the other part is his flow. MTBMB checks all the right boxes for me in terms of production. That album has some d--- good choruses too. (No Regrets, You Gon' Learn etc...). Still have a problem with how he chooses to rap tho. It's not terrible but it hurts the replay value
Apr 30, 2024 the album will be mcdonalds themed,,lots of quarter pounde and grimace ect refrences. slim gains weight for the part like robert danero,,wil he chose slim or big mac ? he can t have both ,,,
Apr 30, 2024 I haven’t really thought much about it so I don’t really have any expectations. I guess if I had to think more about it, realistically part of me thinks it’ll be another shallow concept. The other part of me thinks he’ll stick to the concept more this time since it’s been so long since the last album. Plus, the fact that they’re promoting this thing with detective videos makes me think there is gonna be more to it than just a shallow concept. He’s also just been getting better at making songs in general so I expect more songs with smooth, slower flows. The trailer basically tells us that it’s Eminem who killed Slim Shady when Eminem pops out behind the blur at the end. I think overall the concept could be Eminem really deconstructing the Shady character and talking about how it’s affected his life and why he’s getting rid of it. The Eminem vs. Slim Shady stuff we’ve been seeing really shows the inner struggle. I think that’s really needed as the Shady character has really lost all meaning these days anyway. It could also result in a braggadocious track where he basically says his only competition is himself in the form of a different character. In terms of production, I expect modern production with the possibility of some throwbacks mixed in. Old Slim Shady production choices and characters like Ken Kaniff could appear. There’s also that Steve Berman skit that was hinted at. Dr. Dre, Royce, and 50 Cent are obvious features, probably Skylar too. If Ken Kaniff appears on the album, I could see there being a Lil Wayne feature since Wayne suggested Eminem bring Ken back. Em could’ve traded verses with Nas. He could’ve worked with some of the people on that Lyrical Lemonade album. He sent spaghetti to Billie Eilish so maybe he worked with her too idk. I could see a song like My Darling being on the album. Idk I can’t think super clearly right now but I’m just throwing ideas out. I could see some references to Evil Twin, SSEP, SSLP. I think the album could end up being at least a 7/10.
May 1, 2024 First verse is a good example of how Em should be doing his vocals And this was on Kamikaze so there's no excuse for Em not being able to deliver his vocals in a way that he's not sounding like a robot.
May 1, 2024 Thank you, part of me is "afraid" that the concept will be tackled in 2 or 3 songs then it's gonna be more of the formula we've gotten, what gives me hope is that fact that he's doing a rollout this time, that means something has to be different right?
May 1, 2024 The fact that he's promoting again can only be a good sign. It seems like he has regained confidence since that turd s--- Revival and the feedback received from the following albums. I think this one will improve on both Kamikaze and MTBMB.
