May 22, 2024 That's dope Also shoutout to the durag crew. Still going strong with the same mentality as when it started. Quality members over quantity.
May 22, 2024 This is what happens when you don't release a single https://x.com/chartdata/status/1793037244028121283 Don't get me wrong, 300K just off the name is still a lot.
May 22, 2024 Taylor Swift didn't release a single prior, and sold 2.6 million (including 1.9 million actual physical) lol. Then Em had a no.1 song with 'Godzilla' n sold less than 300k equivalent, lol. That's not what sells albums. That's what sells singles.
May 22, 2024 I reckon we get another similar tweet tomorrrow. Single release friday and then another tweet in similar style with tracklist then album next week
May 22, 2024 People want this album so bad they forgot what summer actually means. Album isn't dropping on the 31st. It's either a tracklist, the first single or both.
May 22, 2024 He almost did 300K with MTBMB with 0 promo lol this is mad weak for Billie, but that's what happens when you don't hype an album up before dropping it.
May 22, 2024 1, Taylor owns the world right now 2, Godzilla didn't go number 1, in the U.S. at least. It was like number 3 for one week.
May 22, 2024 31st may is pretty much 1st June, June is pretty much summer, plus album could have been bought forward
May 22, 2024 Then imagine how much less it would have sold without this single, as the streams of the single are obviously included.
May 22, 2024 A single is fine tbh maybe in combination w a tracklist. Other than that nothing is important tbh
May 22, 2024 You're splitting hairs. Point is it disproves your theory. Singles is not what sells albums. Singles sells singles. Taylor Swift was always selling that. Single or no single. And Em was always selling that, single or no single. Actually Em didn't release 'Godzilla' prior anyway. He did exactly what Taylor did and released song ('Darkness') with the album. It's not 1999. Singles don't move albums. They used to back then because you primarily wanted the single with the album, it was like 'here's a preview... buy the album'. Doesn't work like that now. People stream songs - if they like the song, they just stream that song. Doesn't make them go buy an album. Adele is a huge album artist. Taylor is a huge album artist. Guarantee you both could never put out any single again and their albums would sell huge. Em used to be a huge album artist, but like I said, he's lost that lockhold on culture. So he could have f---ing 3 no.1 singles with this prior to the album - guarantee you it wouldn't make the album sell.
May 22, 2024 Her last album did 238,000 with 5 singles beforehand. You autistically hyper focus on sales but still come to the wrong conclusions
