There's no strong correlation. People need to be locked in to you as a ppopular figure and interested in what you're doing, and obviously they are with Billie, to a degree, she's still building, I'd bet her next album is bigger again. It's not about singles. It's about songs, yes, like, songs that make an impact on culture and stand the test of time, and move the needle, but not just 'oh have a hit and that makes the album sell!', simplistic thinking. Another great example disproving this = B.o.B's debut.
