May 22, 2024 What if it was never slim shady in the hockey mask… it was Eminem trying to get slim shady to take the fall
May 22, 2024 Probably not nearly half, since he's said in interviews that he made almost 3 albums' worth of Relapse material.
May 22, 2024 Why? They obviously were. When he put Refill out, he said: Eminem stated: "I want to deliver more material for the fans this year like I originally planned. Hopefully these tracks on The Refill will tide the fans over until we put out Relapse 2 next year." So obviously 'Relapse 2' was becoming 'Recovery' already; as all the relapse material for 1 n 2 was done, with Dre, ready to go. So when he said that, obviously after the response to Relapse 1 and then he started recording new s--- with new producers = Recovery. Why would 'like I planned' and 'these tracks' not be some of the best from R2?
May 22, 2024 If he was putting out refill to hold over fans until relapse 2 then how is refill relapse 2? Relapse 2 got completely scrapped after refill and he went the opposite direction with recovery
May 22, 2024 Wasn't a huge fan of the standard version of Relapse but like you said, the fact that he had so many good songs on a bonus CD and even more that we never heard is crazy. I think if you combine the best songs from the album, include the 2 bonus tracks and Refill. Trim it down to the best 15 songs, that album belongs right up there with his first 3. Relapse has aged the best out of all his post hiatus album. It's definitely the most fun one to revisit.
May 22, 2024 Your own Eminem quote confirms that none of the Refill tracks were going to be on Relapse 2 lol
May 22, 2024 I still think the funniest part about the fake tracklists is that they all have the same 3 song titles
May 22, 2024 No because I'm saying it's obvious he was putting out Refill, which was some of Relapse 2, since he changed direction and knew it wasn't going to be a Relapse 2. By then, he'd probably already recorded half of Recovery or more, he may not have titled it yet but it was different sound and music. So I don't think he was putting out Refill to tide people over until Relapse 2, he was putting out Refill as he knew there wouldn't be a relapse 2 / it was cancelled due to Relapse 1 reception and he put some of it out, whilst he finished Recovery / knew he was doing an entirely different album. He didn't put out Refill, then scrap R2, then record Recovery. Lol, he put out Refill in Dec 09, Recovery came out in June 2010 - with all the marketing and scheduling back then, you seriously don't think he'd already started Recovery long before? Obviously he saw the reception to Relapse, immediately started recording new s---, probably mid 09 which I think was confirmed by him somewhere, and by late 09 he knew he had this new direction n material aka Recovery, so he put out Refill to tide fans over until he finished Recovery.
May 22, 2024 Well you can say 'k' all you want, all of this has been confirmed by the man himself in various interviews from that period, if I could be bothered to go collate it all which I can't. You can if you want. I'm right. He confirmed himself he freakin started recovery in response to r1 reception, hence Refill was put out whilst he finished it. Recovery was in motion in 09 fewl. 'Not Afraid' was released in April 2010. That means he had it all wraped, finished, photoshoot, vids done, marketing schedules etc. ... quite a bit before that aka probably Jan/Feb. What you think he made recovery in like 3 weeks? lmao. It was made in 09. He long changed direction and albums before he put Refill out / to tide fans over until he finished.
May 22, 2024 Speaking of Recovery, just remembered he said he recorded 100 tracks for it... And he said he recorded hundredS for MMLP2. Think of all the fkn s--- in the vault, even from those albums. He's 100%, from some of the bonus or unheard s--- and just imagining the concepts and great songs he left off because he wanted to 'balance' things... ; 100% got multiple potential classic albums in his vault. I'm sure each of his albums could have been a lot better, he's p bad at structuring and choosing tracks in the modern era.
May 22, 2024 He thinks he's right just because he wrote more words. Dude straight up disproved his own argument and is still shamelessly yapping lmfao
May 22, 2024 They’re laughing at you but I actually think you’re correct on this one lmaooo. John banana(eminem fan that does a lot of research on unreleased king mathers album and relapse 2) made a video explaining relapse 2 and I think he was saying pretty much what you are saying.
