May 24, 2024 Vince Staples was just talking last night about how pointless a huge rollout is in 2024 when the music is going straight to our phones already. Kamikaze came by complete surprise in 2018 and did big numbers. People just need to live with Em isn’t as popular at 51 as he once was. It’s OK. Nas just put out six pretty good to excellent albums and none of them did much. These guys are legacy acts now.
May 24, 2024 I don't think we've had a proper rollout to be able to gage whether or not he's lost as much popularity as people claim. Kamikaze and MTBMB had no promo. Revival was a--- and the singles were by far the worse he ever put out. So you'd have to go back to MMLP2 and Recovery to see what a good single and some promo can do for an album.
May 24, 2024 This plus the return in interest in physical media. More people will buy an Em cd/vinyl/cassette vs majority of new artists. Physical media played a big role in Taylor's numbers. No matter what you guys believe, like Em states in his documentary, there is an army of people around that need their paycheck.
