Jun 4, 2024 Wtp was one of few recovery songs that I actually enjoyed. I remember a lot of people saying it was one of the worst songs on the album.
Jun 4, 2024 Do we think this is current Eminem dressed in his old style or do we think these movements and this character is completely AI or a double? Just find it mad that he can still move naturally like that - Man, we need a behind-the-scenes for this video -when I say naturally, I just mean the way he used to move and carry himself
Jun 4, 2024 Yeah thats what I meant castle/arose/believe get more plays from me nowadays than most of mmlp2. Also whats up with right for me? Teerrrrrrible song tbh
Jun 4, 2024 I think after Recovery he started having an identity crisis. Relapse got s--- on, so I think that pushed him off the zany Shady s--- and onto the more serious Recovery. Think about it. The "Eminem that never smiles" didn't really start until this point and it's pretty well been this way ever since. But then people were calling Recovery soft so he tried to come back with MMLP2, but it was confused. This is the first album that seems lost in direction. Because you have this album seemingly picking up after MMLP, but it doesn't really go far from there. We get the parking lot skit, then it's just a bunch of call backs to old songs and confused production. Are you going for MMLP, or Beastie Boys? You get songs like Brainless with early Em sounding production, then have the Rick Rubin beats, then we get modern sounding s--- like The Monster. The whole album is sonically lost. And I think that's evident when you see what he did with Revival. He tried the same thing but a lot messier. I think MMLP2 is a decent collection of songs, but it doesn't make a great album.
Jun 4, 2024 And the guy is a creature of habit. Rap God got rave reviews so he kept doing this fast rap s--- to try and top himself over and over and over. I'm hoping since Houdini for the most part is doing alright, he'll take some notes lol
Jun 4, 2024 miss that sound so much!!! Super dope! I showed it to some friend today and he said it reminded him of We Ain't I hope Em has a beat of that caliber on his new album.
Jun 4, 2024 All I listen to from revival is framed, believe, castle and arose. All I listen to from MMLP2 is probably brainless and legacy if I'm being 100% honest.
Jun 4, 2024 Great post, I totally agree. It was a lost, confused album that didn't really know what it wanted to be and that's one of the reasons it's at the bottom of the pile with Revival imo.
Jun 4, 2024 it's Em. AI is good but not this good. All the movements are spot on. Eminem recorded his parts as regular Eminem, then shaved and did his parts as old Eminem. Then they deaged him in post.
Jun 4, 2024 I just know y'all Em fans because y'all always have the worst takes ever musically speaking
Jun 4, 2024 I will give a shoutout to Headlights though. it gets s--- on but I honestly think it was a great and necessary contribution to his discography, content wise. I wish Bad Husband wasn't a dumpster fire because I think that one was necessary too
Jun 4, 2024 I hate everything about it. Reminds me of Venom. Can't stand that flow he uses and his voice/delivery is off putting. Hook is cringe too. Its just one of those 'look how good I am at rapping' songs. Cramming a million syllables for the sake of it. Lyrical miracle spiritual s---. Nah, not for me. I like smooth sounding songs.
Jun 4, 2024 MMLP2 was the start of his stop and go flow and nobody seems to bring that up. I liked the album but that was clear on first listen
