Again, how is it not possible to both give him s--- for his music and praise him for the good things (talking about after tes). The majority is bad/average, but there are also good songs. I don't care if it's Kanye or Em, I like both artists, but the last 10 year Eminem has been average overal (a lot of bad and some good songs) and Kanye doesn't have a bad album imo. But it seems like on here you either have to be a Ye stan or a Em stan sometimes lol

No one in their right mind should be calling these albums bad. At most, I can see them not matching someone's tastes...but if you're gonna say their actually bad albums I'm gonna need an explanation

Those two albums aren't bad to any extent. They just require a certain taste of music to enjoy

No, I disagree with that. Imo a stan is someone who praises everything certain artist puts out even when it´s average or bad. But sometimes on here it seems that you either have to be a stan or a hater. Like there is no option in between. I don´t think Kanye has a bad album. I love every album except for yeezus, but even that is not a bad album imo. 808 and WTT are great/classic as well. For Em, I love his first 3, and after that I think he is just average, with both bad/horrible and some good/great songs. It isn't all bad or all great. But what I mean is, if you say something bad about him, you´re called a hater, and if you say something positive, you´re called a (closet) stan. There are more posters on here who like both artists and also both praise and criticize them though

That might be the case for an album like 808's since that really requires a certain taste in music but it's different when it comes to Yeezus. People are overanalyzing and reaching for double meanings and stuff to the point where it gets stupid. Especially when people say stuff like that the lyric "hurry up with my d--- croissant" is a double entendre or such, when it actually is just a lyric that you need to take at face value. It's s---, no way around it. Kanye has been lyrically total s--- on this album, and before you say stuff like "that was intended" or " this is what made Kanye so interesting and agressive" I would have to disagree with you. Taking the lyrics, the style and his behavior on this project at face value, the only thing you would be able to say is that it's an album where Kanye tries waaaay too hard to be not like everybody else, when in fact, by doing that, he is just like pretty much any other rapper.

And I don't get what he has sonically done so different with this album. I'm tired of mentioning Death Grips but they are just one of many styles Kanye has taken on this album when it comes to the production and the style. h---, influences can be good if they spark a new sound, a new direction or at least something unique in a way, but it didn't do with this album since it was so blatant what he was trying to do.

Yeezus has a few decent songs but overall it's a failed attempt but due to him obviously being the revolutionary god that everybody thinks he is, the critics ate it up, just like the fans.

In response to the Yeezus having no deeper meaning comment, read this:
    http://www.complex.com/style/2013/11/kanye-west-jodorowsky-holy-mountain/

And as far as the whole originality thing goes, that's such a bs double standard. Most artists take something that's been done dozens of times before and try to either perfect it or add their own twist. Kanye took acid house music and did it better than literally every artist in the genre. The only group that can even compare is Death Grips (keep in mind I'm a huge Death Grips fan). So basically Kanye made an album with one of the youngest styles of sound there is (acid house/grime) and managed to do it better than all but the most prolific artists of the genre, and did it not as some young guys trying to push the envelope, but as a successful 30-something with an established collection of styles, record amounts of grammies under his belt, and 5 solidified classics to his name. But Yeezus isn't good because he made it too blatant that he was going anti-mainstream? That's just dumb. It's an album, not a game of chess. You don't have to hide your motive and act all mysterious. He was angry, and Yeezus was his way of shouting that out to the world from "the top of the mountain".
