Dec 4, 2016One month later, I love Campaign Speech more than before. It's 8 minutes of insane wordplay and rhymes. Eminem is still at the top of his game. Can't wait for his next album, the man is rap personified.

Listened to The Eminem Show at work and was reminded of how amazing of an album it was. From the jump AMEERICAAAAAAA he takes you in for a ride. The america metaphor goes into the next track with a rap game metaphor and then the Eminem Show is on full display after.
All the beats were fantastic and he really held his own self producing most of this. The ONLY low is Drips and even that song isnt that bad. Compare Drips to the Ken Kaniff MMLP skit or Amityville. I'd take Drips.
This album is Eminem at his best. His pen game is impeccable, he shows immense growth from MMLP, he is more transparent than ever, and the shock value is toned down a bit to show his artistry and s--- on his critics. Yes MMLP is a classic and SSLP is his grand introduction to the world but TES was his showing of why he one of the best rappers to ever grace a mic. TES is his best project. I was listening to shade 45 and Rude Jude said he was "waiting on some s--- from Shady" to get sent to him so he could play us some new music. He hadn't got it so he said maybe Monday.
He checked again a few minutes later and still hadnt received it but he mentioned Paul this time. Whether it's new eminem or not idk but we're getting something. Maybe Yelawolf?

Song actually bangs. In the whip it bangs once you add bass to it. He sounds so confident on the song and the song itself is smooth af. One solid pace no shouting or beat pauses just a guy casually rapping(This ad goes away when signing up) -

So today I was in my mom's basement jerking off to Eminem's seductive voice on Superman, and it occurred to me that I promised DMX I'd review the Southpaw Soundtrack if he reviewed Young Thug's Barter 6.
In a video he posted on Youtube, he listened to it and gave the project a 10/10. He even said it was a classic. Obviously he wasn't being sarcastic at all.
So I got this ready on Apple Music, and I'm just overjoyed to listen to some dope beats, great lyrics, and silky smooth flow!
You know.
Real hip hop
Also keep in mind I'm not a professional reviewer. These are just some thoughts that came to mind over the course of listening to this project. I will try to be unbiased, so don't expect this review to be like "Wtf eminem you s--- k--- yourself".
1. James Horner - Cry For Love Pt. 1/ 14. James Horner - Cry For Love Pt. 2
Don't have much to say on these. Short instrumentals that sound incredible.
2. Eminem ft. Gwen Stefani - Kings Never Die
I love the hook. I've always liked Gwen's voice. The way Eminem starts the verse though <<<< Why the f--- does he have to use this delivery? The beat isn't too great.
3. Rob Bailey & The Hustle Standard ft. KXVG Crooked, Busta Rhymes & Tech N9ne - Beast (Remix)
Busta killed itHis verse is dope as f---
The hook and beat is nice. Can't complain about that.
Crooked isn't bad, but I ain't tryna break my neck to this.
Tech does pretty good, but just like Crooked, I'm not moving around like Big Quint
4. Denaun Porter - This Corner
Not bad. Not good.
The beat is alright. It sounded great with that sample (?) at the beginning. The hook sounds really familiar.
5. Action Bronson & Joey Bada$$ ft. Rico Love - What About The Rest of Us
The beat reminds me of The Game song off his (classic) album, Doctors Advocate.
6. Bad Meets Evil - Raw
Beat is great.
Royce is great.
Eminem... ehhhh.
7. Slaughterhouse - R.N.S.
I don't like Slaughterhouse very much, however I do like this song. I wish Royce had a verse or at least did the hook, but the song doesn't suffer from his absence.
8. The Weeknd - Wicked Games
So tell me you love me
(Only for tonight, only for tonight)
Even though you don't love me
Just tell me you love me
(I'll give you what I need, I'll give you all of me)
Even though you don't love me
Amazing.
9. Bad Meets Evil - All I Think About
Tbh, I really enjoy this song. Both Royce and Em did well, and provided a lot of quotable bars.
f--- you doing you r-----
10. 50 Cent - Drama Never Ends
I remember not liking this song much on my first listen, however I like it now. It's obviously not anything groundbreaking, but it's still a dope song nonetheless.
11. PRhyme ft. Logic - Mode
I don't f--- with Logic anymore, but he's not bad on this. His verse had some nice bars. Royce killed it. I guess you can say he's in motherfuckin beast mode haha :3
12. One Of The Best Rappers OAT ft. Bone Thugs N Harmony - Notorious Thugs
Objectively a classic.
I still remember the first time I heard this in grade 10 history class. I'm glad it was included on the project.
13. Eminem - Phenomenal
I really like the "I am phenomenal" part of the hook. The female vocals are hard to understand, the verses have some awful lines, and it sounds awful in general. If he were to fix the verses, and the other problems, this would be a good song.
The beat isn't anything special, but it does its job.
Overall, I'd give this project 2.5 stars out of five. It's definitely not the worst album I've ever heard, but it doesn't have anything that would warrant revisiting this. Some songs and moments are really good, but the low points bring it down a lot.

- Thread: Eminem is descended from 9th century Welsh King ''Rhodri the Great'' according to a genealogy site.
Mar 16, 2016
One was known as the King of Wales who battled Saxons and Vikings in the 9th century.
And though there are 12 centuries, 32 generations and four thousand miles between them, global rap star Eminem could, it seems, be a relative of Welsh King Rhodri Mawr.
Records on US family history site Geni show Eminem linked to leading US families before his lineage goes back to iconic figures in Welsh history like Hywel Dda and Rhodri Mawr.
Wynford Jones, who worked on S4C show DNA Cymru tracing Welsh ancestry, said: “If the genealogy is correct then it looks as though he (Eminem) is a descendant of Rhodri Mawr.”
Rhodri Mawr brought the kingdoms of Gwynedd, Powys and Seisyllwg under his control, and fought the threats of the Saxons and Vikings.
He was the first ruler of Wales to be given the epithet ‘Mawr’ or ‘The Great’, reflecting both his territory and his military achievements.
Rhodri Mawr
Rhodri Mawr fought the threats of the Saxons, who wore helmets like this one found in the grave of a warrior chieftain

Ok, so I've wanted to write this for awhile now, so here it goes:
1. Evil twin was the last track on MMLP2 - Significant because it's the first time I would say he's really made a go at reviving Slim Shady or even suggesting it since Relapse. Combine that with the fact that it was the last track on the album, and hold that thought.
2. In the Phenomenal music video/short film, the chase ends when Eminem falls at the ground floor of a building which seems to be a stage having Dr. Dre standing at the corner saying, "Right on time". Eminem is then shown to grab a mic and standing facing the lights till the camera shuts off.
3. On 'Medicine Man' Em's last few lines... "Dre make the bass pump and let the tape run for old time's sake, I spit it straight through, this is take one,the moment you're waiting for has come but..."
4. Em was supposedly recording for LL Cool J, and expressed direct public interest in recording again with Redman.
5. Em posted a 'random' picture of a tape collection obviously covering old school artists.
6. Em re-releases SSLP on tape.
7. At Lollapalooza, Em wore Ice-T and Beastie Boys t-shirts.
Conclusion: Em has blatantly suggested that he is clearly inspired, motivated and influenced to take it back to the old school days. This being said, I believe he is clearly currently recording or at least planning on recording an album which takes it back to the original formula of SSLP with Dr Dre production, fused with old school elements of that time and prior. I hope and pray that Bass Brothers would lead production as per SSLP, but I'm sure you know what I mean.
Very keen to discuss this and hear alternate opinions.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

Thought this would be a good #tbt to share with the board. Some of the younger posters may have never seen this. Hard to believe this album is 16 years old now. I remember riding my bike to the record store and buying it when I was 15. Em sure has changed alot since then. The whole world has.

Basically, which song represents the whole theme of the album. Something like this:
Infinite - Infinite (Title track, shows off his lyrical ability also present in every other song on the album)
SSLP - Just Don't Give A f--- (Slim Shady talks about how he doesn't give a f--- and how he is willing to do any crazy over the top thing)
MMLP - Marshall Mathers (Title track for the album, shows a much more serious side of Em and showing us his current problems involving fame and family)
TES - Sing For The Moment (A mature song talking about his younger fans and the effect he has on them, while also telling us a bit about him possibly having to face jail time)
Encore - Encore (Title track, meant to be his final show, and ends with death)
Relapse - Deja Vu (Talking about losing his best friend, his drug addiction, and Slim Shady haunting him, all themes throughout the album)
Recovery - Going Through Changes (Talking about losing his best friend, his drug addiction, Slim Shady haunting him, pretty much like Deja Vu, but actually working to change his ways, and come back better than ever)
MMLP2 - Rap God (Showing off lyrical creativity, his skills as a rapper, and containing references to previous albums while not feeling like he's just "stealing" from his other albums, but more like a retrospective on them, and the original MMLP in general)n9ne, Beetrootful, TnT and 7 others like this.(This ad goes away when signing up) -
