May 5, 2015As crazy as it seems, there are people out there who aren't familiar with Eminem, whether it be because they're young and haven't heard of him yet, or they just have no taste in music. It's a sad reality. I feel it is our duty to archive this man's greatness for the future generations to come. We must pass on the mantle of Shady to ensure its survival. This thread is just some basic information for anyone looking to get into Eminem. Hopefully as this site grows old and younger members join in the future, they can use this thread to start their Shady Journey. Here is just some basic information any Eminem fan should know.
The Man:

Name: Marshall Bruce Mathers III
Date of birth: October 17th, 1972
Residence: 5760 Winkler Mill Rd Rochester Hills, Michigan
Blood Type: O Positive
Dexterity: Left handed
Tattoos:
"Rot in pieces"
This tattoo is aimed at Eminem's (divorced) wife Kim Scott. he had it done one night after a fight with Kim, assuming he would never get back together with her. It shows a picture of an open grave with the words "Rot in Pieces"
![]()
"D"
This tattoo is the first part of the D12 logo which Em has tattooed across each lower arm.
There is also a tattoo below this saying "Slit Me".
![]()
"12"
This is the second part of the above tattoo.
Below the "12" there is also a gothic style bracelet on his wrist which he had done whilst drunk.
![]()
"Hailie Jade"
Eminem got this tattoo done when his baby girl was born on Christmas day 1995.
![]()
"Proof"
Eminem’s tattoo inside the left forearm in memory of his late best friend and fellow rapper, Proof of D12, who was tragically shot dead in 2006, and had a tattoo exactly the same. The two first met in 1988 and have been best friends ever since. When Proof died Eminem was devastated, the tattoo represents his love for him.
![]()
"Slit me"
The words "Slit Me" on the inside of the right wrist - likely a literal reference to the suicidal tendencies he had experienced at certain point of his life.
![]()
Bracelet
A tribal tattoo around his left wrist - Eminem claims he does not remember the meaning of this tattoo, implying that he was not in his right senses when he got it done.
![]()
Uncle Ronnie
Eminem got this tattoo as a mark of respect for his uncle, Ronnie Pilkington, who committed suicide back in 1991. Eminem was much closer to his uncle, who first introduced him to HipHop, than anyone else in his family and often includes uncle Ronnie in some of his lyrics.

Hailie
This tattoo is a portrait of Eminem’s daughter, Hailie Jade, with some roses around her. It also has the words "Bonnie & Clyde", which was also a song on The Slim Shady LP, and which was also dedicated to his daugther.
Before getting this tattoo done, he had a tattoo here which simply said "Eminem".

A lot of you may have seen this before, but if not it's definitely worth watching or even if you haven't seen it in a while. Such a classic performance, I was just watching some of it again this morning. Personally I think this is him at his best as far as performances go, I mean just look at the set list. Sure it'd be nice after TES too to get some of those songs, but I liked his energy/performances more in this case. Plus f---in Dre even showed up, god d---. Wish they played guilty conscience too but oh well.
Also Proof was such a better hype man than Kon Artis is now.
Set list:
I'm back
k--- you
Under the influence (with D12)
s--- on you (with D12)
Stan
Criminal
Brain damage
Just don't give a f---
Forgot about Dre (with Dr. Dre)
b---- please 2 (with Xzibit and Dr. Dre)
Drug ballad
c-m on everybody
The Way I am
The real slim shady

May 15th will mark the 6th anniversary of Em's triumphant return to the top with his 6th straight classic at the time, Relapse. During a time when many people had counted him out and thought he had retired, Eminem came back stronger than ever. Although hated by many at the time, Relapse would forever change the game and give breed to a new class of rappers such as Tyler the Creator and Hopsin. Rhyming words that no one ever thought possible and using rhyme schemes that put his contemporaries to shame, he flipped rap on it's ear like he dropped corn. Here are a few ideas in regards to how I think we can celebrate.
-We all change our avys to the Relapse cover
-Go on iTunes and re-buy Relapse to get it charting again
-Get #Relapse trending

- Thread: Would you take a bullet for Em?
Apr 24, 2015
If you were at an Eminem autograph signing and you saw the assassin pulling out his gun and heading toward Em, would you jump in front? I think I would, I grew up with Eminem and his music is a part of me, and so is he. If I were to let him die, I would be letting a part of me die as well. I don't think I could live with the guilt of having been capable of saving him and not doing it. This is just something I've been thinking about for a few years now. Every night I go to bed and tell myself I would, but part of me is scared to and wants to live.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

It's so messed up.
The dude wants recognition but he will never get it cause he can't say "all day n-----, all day n----- all day n-----, spent all day n----- at the mall n----- all day n----- how much i ball n----- all day n-----"
How the f--- is that fair?
I give the dude credit now for what he has been releasing. Where else can he possibly go?
He's not black.
If he replaced the words n----- with boy, and released this same exact song you guys would laugh at it and call it s---.

- Thread: "Bad Guy" First Listen...
Feb 21, 2015
Do you remember the first time you heard "Bad Guy"? Man, it was so unexpected. For the first two and a half verses I just thought it was another song about Kim but when he said;
"And here's your Bronco hat; you can have that s--- back cause they s---!
It's just me, you and the music now, Slim, I hope you hear it"
I flipped. It was what most Em fans have been waiting for, a sequel to "Stan". That s--- was crazy! How the whole story just blended together, it's beautiful.
The fourth verse is just pure fire. The beat change is monumental. Top 10.
Still pissed he didn't release a video for it considering he made a 5 minute intro around this track for the 2014 summer concerts.
Would love to listen to the again for the first time.(This ad goes away when signing up) -

If all it took for Wayne to step his game up was for him and Birdman to have beef, imagine what it would do for the battle master. Wayne is spitting bars again which I thought would never happen.
Eminem needs beef and he needs it now. It obviously works. We need someone in his circle to betray him.
I'm thinking Paul could break the news that he's been smashing Hailie this whole time. Could work.(This ad goes away when signing up) -
