I've been using pokemon go a bit differently than most, what I've been doing is tracking down dorks with it. Usually if there's a halfway decent pokemon on the screen you can jet over to that area and find all sorts of subhumans.

I saw this fine young gentleman just last week leaping over a bridge to chase a Nidoran. He leaped over the rail, trench coat flapping in the wind as he descended. Not pictured are his tinted John Lenon's. Saw him about an hour and a half later sitting off a trail tucked just out of the way, luring a pokestop. I couldnt help but laugh my a--- off as i stood there and took his picture.



Saw this guy stumbling around in his fedora just this morning. I kept my distance to this one though because he seemed to actually be r-----ed.

We parted ways after he climbed up that hill you see to his left chasing a psyduck.
I met up with him again later on, at which point he appears to have gotten too warm for his hooded sweatshirt, as he had opted to tie it around his waist at that time.

New Zealander Tom Currie has become a full-time Pokémon hunter. Each morning he fills a flask with coffee, packs a rain jacket and cut lunch in his backpack and heads into the wilderness to hunt Pokémon – come rain, hail, or snow.

The 24-year-old Kiwi quit his job in Auckland last week to embark on a two month tour of New Zealand, with the aim of capturing all of the Pokémon released on smartphone game Pokémon Go last week.

Currie has booked 20 bus trips around New Zealand and, in less than a week, has already visited six South Island towns – and caught Pokémon at every stop. So far he has captured 90 of the 151 Pokémon released on the game.

In the Kaikoura Ranges on the east coast of the South Island, Currie capturedDragonair, Scyther and Jynx. And, in the rough seas off the wild west coast he seized water-dwelling Goldeen.



“I wanted to have an adventure,” Currie said. “I have been working for six years and I was desperate for a break. And Pokémon gave me the chance to live that dream.”

A week in, and Currie’s adventure is both exhilarating and exhausting. On occasion he has hunted till 3am and he says he sleeps deeply now because of the “miles and miles” he walks each day.

“I think the most exciting experience so far was in Sumner, Christchurch, which has become a hot spot for Pokémon hunters,” Currie said.

“There were about 100 people there hunting. And some of these people would usually be shut up at home and really reclusive. Hunting for Pokémon is bringing them into the real world. It was such a buzzy atmosphere, when someone spotted a rare Pokémon they would shout out to alert the crowd.”

Currie’s journey so far has been done on the cheap, sleeping on friend’s couches or in crowded backpacker dorms.

But his trip has piqued the nation’s interest and he has been approached by various transport companies, offering to take him to remote parts of the country to hunt for rare Pokémon.

His nana and I don’t understand the game but I remember him loving it in his childhood.

Currie has also received messages of support from around the world, including Ireland, India, Canada and the US.

“Tom is a very spur-of-the-moment, independent kid, he always has been,” said his mother, Tania Dobbs. “His nana and I don’t understand the game but I remember him loving it in his childhood. I am just glad he is out enjoying his life and seeing so much of New Zealand. I back him 100%.”

I'm sure a lot of you know some of these already, but we should have a thread where we can all talk about our strategies n s---. Here's a few that have been really helpful to me so far.

1. Catch everything you see. Idc if you got 20 Rattatas, capture it for the XP & candies alone.

2. Wait to evolve. I like to stack up a bunch of Pokemon, pop a double XP egg and evolve them all at the same time. Just way more efficient in terms of earning XP.

3. Try to get the best releases when catching Pokemon. You get more points for Good, Nice, Great, and Excellent releases. You can throw a curveball by holding down and spinning the ball before throwing it.

4. Turn off AR. It's in the top right corner, and turning it off puts the Pokemon in the middle of the screen, rather than having to center your phone perfectly before tossing a pokeball.

Yesterday, March 31st 2016, Final Fantasy XI servers went offline for good ending the last remaining active PS2 title. In a way yesterday the PS2 officially died.

The console which released March 4th 2001 sold 155 million units world wide which makes it the top selling console of all time. Sony officially stopped production of the console in 2013 and yesterday ended 16 years of console support.

We all remember the iconic start up and have great memories of some of the greatest games to ever be released. What are some of your favorite PS2 titles?

Some of mine include GTA SA, Madden and ESPN 2k5, God of War, MGS, Resident Evil 4, and Gran Turismo.

Season 1 thoughts:

• Great season. Almost on par with Breaking Bad's first season. Something to think about: Many of us binge watched BB's first season and watched BCS week-to-week. Totally different viewing experiences which skew comparisons between the two seasons. I remember falling asleep during the BB Gray Matter episode.
• Anyone else over the music montages that are apart of every episode? They're starting to seem like filler.
• Surprised they only hinted at "Saul" a few times all season. My dad is watching BCS without having watched BB first, and he didn't understand who Saul is or why Saul was in the title.
• Kevin Costner reference was gold. Belize made me happy. With the appearance of Tuco in the first episode, many thought the show would use BB references as a crutch, but it's really been the perfect amount.
• Jimmy's breakdown at the nursing home was one of the most cringeworthy and well acted scenes in BB/BCS history. Reminded me of Walter going on his rant at the assembly after the plane crash.
• Finale was good. The penultimate episode often contains the climax, with the finale telling the resolution. Game of Thrones does this every season (I always feel 'meh' at the end of a GoT season). The finale also wrapped up the Jimmy story nicely, in case BCS wasn't renewed for another season (not sure if this was the intention, it was renewed pretty early). I do think the final scene was a little cheesy.
• The BCS story is still slowly unraveling. There is so much Mike backstory left to tell (the murders, Gus?). What will be Chuck and Kim's fate? Nacho will be back (hopefully Tuco too). Let's not forget the black & white future (where's Jesse?) and possible BB overlap timelines. Honestly, I could see this show lasting 5-6 seasons. I would have never guessed that before season 1.
• Besides Mad Men, BCS is my favorite show at the moment. Many questioned whether Better Call Saul would taint the Breaking Bad experience; I think it only added to the masterpiece.

Better Call Saul Season 1 was literally everything we could have hoped for. Big thanks to Vince & Peter.
