didnt expect iceland to be so good. they played qaulity defense, and ronaldo threw away the limited amount of EASY chances that he got.

João Mario is such a class player but today was awful, Andre Gomes has technique but is so slow and Moutinho had a season full of injuries. Adrien and Renato are better options.

Get ronaldo out of the f---ing box and keep him wide where he has space. that draws some of the defenders towards him (he can take long range shots, so they can't wait around for him). Have renato directly link up ronaldo and there you go, your attack becomes that much deadlier, instead ronaldo stay's the box where he has no space and is hardly breaking a sweat, while the average portugeese midfielders try to do all the creative work against a well disciplined team, who allow's nothing but air balls from the flank, which would be good for ronaldo, if he didn't waste his chances. Otherwise he makes no runs, he doesn't even get physical with the defenders, he just get's knocked over. He has brilliant technique, but he had little touches.

Only put him in the box for set pieces, or at the far post at best for headers, you excluded him completely from your buildup, which meant it was easier to cut out before it got anywhere. And the iceland keeper was on point. I don't see how you claim to be the better team playing such pointless football. and any bigger side like spain will cleanly annihilate you unless you change your tactics. your midfield just isnt as brilliant to support ronaldo playing striker

That's beautiful but what it counts is that he had 3 easy chances and he couldn't score.

Our midfield is good but today they were not at they level. João Mario is a lot better than that and we need Rafa on the field!
