Bro, trust me. I grew up watching Messi. We had a whole lot of TV programs dedicated to talk about him, his story, interviewing friends, family, etc. Both his parents were born in Rosario, Argentina.

The only FACT is, if FIFA policies and rules weren't so god d--- awful (and we know exactly why they are this way), Mbappe would've never played for France. He would have never even played a World Cup at all, more than likely. s---... the whole of the French squad wouldn't have. NONE of them.

While Messi would have still played for Argentina and so would the rest of the players. ALL of them.

you mean his story that started in Spain, interviewing his friends from Spain etc? lol

That is false, both of them were able to chose who they wanted to play for, Messi could have easily play for Spain but declined and Mbappe as well. Why would a guy born and raised in France couldn't be allow to play for France, that is non-sense, while your boy left his home country to develope and form as a player in Spain so much for nationalism lmao. And also, he is the player that he is today due to how Spain raised him Argentina had 0 contribution to that.

You should watch the Messi (2014) Documentary before running your mouth.

    upload_2024-8-2_18-24-24.png

You don't seem to know much.

    So much for nationalism?
He literally CHOSE to play for the country he was born in. Even though Spain all his team mates in Barcelona were just AMAZING and they would all go on to play for Spain, winning 2 Euros and the 2010 World Cup later on.
It would've been a much easier choice to just stay in Spain and play for Spain and win everything with the same people he was playing with at Barcelona. LOL. They were destroying Messi, people didn't love him at all. He could've avoided all of it had he played for Spain, they treated him like a real king from Day 1.

    Your reasoning is awful.

one, thank you for the recommendation, I'll respectfully pass..not a fan

and second of all, Argentina had 0 contribution to the player Messi is today all credits go to Spain, the way they raised him and develop him as a player and that is also a fact, you can't deny that.

Only reason Barcelona picked him up is because of how he played in Argentina y'know? they didn't do it out of the kindness of their heart

Doubtful, first place he ever kicked a ball was his homeland so... it's kind of the other way around, he would've blown up anywhere, it's just that Barcelona had the money to fund his treatment

if and buts don't think are working here, Spain turned him into the player that he is today and Argentina had 0 contributions into his development that lead to him being the best player of all time, that can't be denied with ifs and buts unfortunately

History doesn't seem to follow your theory tho, since Argentina has always had better individual players than Spain overall, I'm more inclined to believe he's who he is because of his roots rather than his training

Sorry with all due respect, but that simply doesn't make any sense whatsoever and is not in line with reality, which is that the man literally developed as a top player in Spain. He was 13 when he left, is not like he left after playing as a pro at a top level in Argentina, but hey agree to disagree I'm happy with my opinion since is based on facts and not on what if

idk man, there are a lot of players being trained in Spain but there's only one Messi after all and he happens to be the one not born in Spain (also a fact), like you said tho, agree to disagree

    BIGFOOT More than a myth!

Ok, so if Messi was contracted in Argentina before Spain, then that means Argentina played a part in his training and is more than valid to play for them as International. Given his parents were also from Argentina so....

And no bias here, I was a CR7 guy.

Bro... Hakim Ziyech was born in Holland.
He lived his whole life in Holland, played at Dutch clubs and others later on.

He chose to play for Morroco 9 years ago. So do other players like him. If we talk about players that owe their country there are worse stories than Messi or Mbappé tbh

I think the argument there is that black men should only play for african teams, not saying I agree, it's the idea I got from the whole thing lol
