Nov 5, 2016 but wayne is just a human being, is he not allowed to share his own opinions on topics like that unless they're positive? he's not an elected official or appointed representative, he's just a person who had an opinion. should he just bite his tongue on these matters?
Nov 5, 2016 What's another big platform black people a voice in to represent our culture ? Of course it's both of those concerns I really don't see how it's so hard to get
Nov 5, 2016 my avy is the man that i consider to be the best rapper dead or alive holding a picture of tupac if i gave a s--- about his opinions i wouldn't have made it through a single tape of his
Nov 5, 2016 the thing i guess i dont understand is this concept you guys have of "culture" like i understand black culture in music sports arts w/e i dont understand how that transfers into sociopolitical stuff surely hes allowed to just speak for lil wayne and you're allowed to speak for you right? a white person wouldnt be condemned because they make all white people look bad if they got on tv and slandered BLM
Nov 5, 2016 Look the only reason I'm going at Wayne's is because he's contradicting himself he has plenty of songs talking how suppressed we are then he turn around and has comments like this All I'm saying is rap is our biggest platform and also sports as @BuffaloBoy V The World pointed out and are the biggest role models for black culture so threre words have a huge influence on us all if they say something negative or positive It affects the culture that's what I'm saying
Nov 5, 2016 literally nobody puts any weight on waynes political views and if they do thats a whole nother problem in itself
Nov 5, 2016 yea and i totally understand that, but the difference is that wayne isn't a politician, and wayne didn't sign up or register anywhere to be a role model. i guess the debate is whether he should be obligated to take on that role because he's in a position to do it, or if he should be entitled to be a hypocrite that makes kneejerk reactions that create controversy. i don't think anyone should put much stock into what he says in interviews on anything that doesn't relate to what he knows. i understand what you're saying about how he's a potential voice that could make an impact because of the position he's in and the fact that he's a part of the black community who can make people listen, but i guess my point is that he's not really obligated to do that
Nov 5, 2016 Of course a white person going on tv wouldn't have the same impact as lil Wayne going on tv and saying what he's saying about black lives matter
Nov 5, 2016 Yea I agree he's not obligated but he should know and understand his position of power and that's what TI is trying to tell him
Nov 5, 2016 They live in a different world than we do expecting them to share our beliefs is irrational
