    This is all recent.

I know how to code but I'm not a very good coder. I don't know how to find an exploit in a product or even hack my way into a system. I'm just a wanabe coder.

Anybody can do that. Even I can do that. Email/phishing scams rely on susceptibility (as in create something authentic and scare them into clicking the link) and back then it was way easy to do it due to the lack of advancements in web pages.

Nowadays it's harder since sites have tricks that make it harder to make authentic pages. When you enter an email address, your google profile picture shows up on the login page and that's very hard to duplicate.

Even then, most of these scams can be avoided by reading warnings like "PayPal will never ask for your info in an email.".

I never use those as examples of hacking because that's kiddie s---. Anybody can do it and it all relies on luck and change.

That's one thing about it. The human mind can be tricked to some extent; a lot of scammers use information like the address to convince them to trust the scammer and I've even read about scammers easedropping on calls to make themselves look even more authentic.

People easily put trust in anything that looks familiar; that's why people easily fall for phone scams. Email and web scams are easier to detect thanks to the domains and the verification tools available. Gmail won't even accept anything without a DKIM/SPF/DMARC check and a lot of email servers have the same checks as Gmail.

And to get a domain that's similar to paypal.com is hard to two things. Scammers getting similar sounding names and domain registrars banning usages of similar sounding domain names.

The kind of engineering I'm talking about is digging into people's beliefs. Americans are stupid as f--- and are willing to believe anything that relates to their viewpoint. Russia spent a lot of money on ads that targeted right wing people because let's face it, they care more about guns and "free speech" than any logical viewpoint.

Let's not forget about the fact that people can be convinced to vote against a candidate if they didn't do enough action. It's a basic thing of "this candidate will make things bad, vote for the one who isn't a f--- up.".

To me, exploiting society is social engineering. Everything else is kiddie s---.

This is my belief... That Russia is good at hacking/social engineering. There was a NYT piece that had a guy infiltrate a trolling farm in Russia and that (and past experiences) have led me to believe that belief.

I'm aware of the Asian countries and I'm aware they provide a lot of technological innovations but my belief in Russia is based off of Cyber Warfare and to win in warfare, you have to troll people. How do you think Anonymous operates?. they troll.

I wish I could. I know that you have more experience in computers than me and you can probably hack some system somewhere but I've seen a lot of these scams, I've seen a lot of these web scams (and I hate the ones that take over your browser with the "install this plugin to close this window" thing) and I've even DDoSed myself... I know how these things work.

You're right, maybe I need to stop believing in the stories that the media put out. I want to let you know I have been on the internet for almost my entire life, I know a lot about computers and internet culture and I'm just speaking from experience.

Also wanted to leave this in there. A lot of Americans can code; it's just that for some reason, nobody promotes going to school and learning as important. Everything I've seen it's like "man f--- school, I want to sit down and watch TV and not learn s---" and that's in almost every movie/TV show I have seen.

America really needs to promote education more.

    Maybe this isn't about you.

Eminem went on a black entertainment channel and denounced Trump. A lot of white artists are too scared of losing their fan base to take strong political stance. This, however, pays homage to the hip hop culture, of which Lord Jamar insists Eminem is "a guest."

You hear the argument all the time that white people want to steal black culture but don't want to actually be black. Hip-hop was founded by disenfranchised people of color.
You can't embrace the artform without respecting its origins, as Eminem has always done. Honestly, it is a big factor that has earned him respect from other artists.

If you support Trump, who has called neo Nazis "fine people," you inherently renounce your support for those who pioneered hip hop and those who keep it alive today. For Eminem, whose whole career has been a love letter to the artists who came before him, it is understandably acceptable to reject those Trump supporters.

They, like the OP, do not listen to hip hop for the right reasons.
