    It's all good bro we got the best rap song OAT last year in Darkside/Gone. Godfather 50 also blessed us with I'm The Man which a top 5 song of the 10's. Music is doing great.

    i'm not positive i have a clear understanding of what koolo is asking, but the one thing i know for sure is that many ppl who like hip/hop are just casual fans. they don't really care about good lyrics, talking about it on message boards and digging deep into hip hop albums, they just want something that sounds good. i think drake is so popular because his music is commercial/radio friendly and that really appeals to the casual fan. its something they can play at parties and what not---amd there's nothing wrong with that.

    if an album like madvilliany came out today, i don't think people would s--- on it. i think it would be appreciated by those who are more into hip hop (those who ARE NOT casual fans) and don't fit into the "casual" hip/hop fan category---because casual rap fans typically don't like albums that have the sound that madvilliany has

    if its aoty for wpg then it will be considered as just mediocre.

    With that being said, I have do doubt it will be better than mkl... I mean, it wouldn't be hard to top a 5/10 album with generic production
