    Recovery has always been just okay to me. I remember being kind of disappointed when it first leaked. But the hype train back then was crazy. Everyone loved Em. Then slowly as he started using that style more (yelling, yelling louder to emphasize metaphors and punches, choppy flow, etc.)it became stale and corny on a lot of tracks. People started to lose interest, slowly it became the hip thing to hate Eminem and Revival just sealed it. I don’t think MMLP2 even is as bad as people say it is, id rather listen to Bad Guy, Groundhog Day, or Evil Twin than a lot of songs on Recovery. I saw a guy on twitter say “Eminem sucks, I listened to one song from Kamikaze and turned it off”. I think a lot of times, just as people can be blinded by nostalgia, people are blinded by their pre determined opinion and biases. If Eminem would’ve dropped something like Kamikaze in 2010 the world would’ve been praising it.

    Well it seems some guys in here can never be pleased with "modern" EM. His pen game is top notch and even better than in his "prime". Yeah, of course after MMLP2 he found himself in a corner with to much complicated rappity rap kind of tracks, but after Revival(and even on this project were songs like Believe, Arose etc.) he's on a brilliant run with great/classic songs like The Ringer, Lucky You, Stepping Stone, Fall, Good Guy, Greatest etc. And now, after the good b--- Verse we get his best Feature Verse since a long a--- time with a smooth Flow and great Lines and still people are reacting, as if EM realeased another "Right For Me" , "No Favors" or "Offended" type of track and call this trash, lol. I don't know what y'all expect?

    That’s honestly a really good question! I never thought of it like that. Earlier in his career, he was just so talented that it didn’t matter how he approached his music, he was able to make it work. I always figured, since he said after deciding to come clean that he had to re-learn how to rap, it was just a product of that learning process. Ever since his come back, he’s gone to significant lengths to alter/adjust his rapping to what he thinks his fans want. From quitting the accent after Relapse to sticking with the double time flow after the reception from “forever” to creating MMLP2 etc. I’ve always felt that he was just lost; trying his best to give fans the material they want to hear from him. I can’t imagine the music making process of eminem in 2001 is anything like it is in 2019. Like, he’s truly an entirely different artist now who’s been trying to adapt since 09.

    Yup. He thinks rap is a sport but it’s not. Using all these intricate rhyme schemes & fast deliveries doesn’t make your music good. It’s never what made his music good.
