Personally I think my favorite song of this year (not the best just the one I f--- with the most) is Zombies by Travi$ Scott.

First of all, for a Travis song, the lyrics weren't bad. I also picked up on how this was like an homage to We Don't Care by Kanye. I love what the hook is saying: f--- your traditions and preconceived notions, it's time for the next generation to grab this b---- by the horns. The song talks about Travis' views on the youth, saying that the dope turn-up life is something every kid should participate in at least a little bit while simultaneously bragging about the fact that he lives that life.

And that interlude...

Idk man, that line was really cool to me.. Just,
"You know when I was fourteen
I wanted to do a lot of kick a--- s---
Yeah"

Like I'm probably the only person who feels so strongly about such a simple line, but to me this is like Eminem's little motivational speech at the beginning of Lose Yourself. He's trying to tell us how he dreamed of making it this far, and then he doesn't even need to elaborate on the thought because it's so obvious that he's made it exactly where he dreamt. As a kid who is also from Houston who is only a few years younger than Travis and dreams of becoming a kick a--- producer/rapper, this really strikes a chord with me.

So yeah.. While its not the BEST song of the year, or even the best song from the mix tape, it sounds so good and connects with me so much that it goes down as my personal favorite of the year.

Keep in mind I'm overhyping the h--- out of it but it's still so good imo, especially the fact that it takes the basics of We Don't Care and turns it on its head, only to talk about disregarding old s--- and making your own path in the song.

Lol I didn't call him out on his song choice.

I called him a r----- because he said he stopped reading at "pharell" (the second last word in the entire post) and didn't realize how stupid he sounded when he wrote it.

In fact, I always only call someone out after they do or say something genuinely idiotic.
