Nov 30, 2016 You are the one oversimplifying and ignoring a huge context and all the social mesures he did, by just saying that he was a "piece of s---". I like to think about a guy I met there, he was running the place where I slept. He supported the Revolution, he went to political acts and all. But he had no problem saying that the system used to be very authoritarian back then. Also he had no problem saying that the government gives you basic food every month for a symbolic price, and guarantees you health care, education and a home. And that he doesnt support those Cubans who go around pitying themselves and the tourists because he worked hard to get what he wanted and to live well in the country, and at the same time he was aware that it was easier to support the Revolution when you were wealthy. He also worked abroad in Sweden for many many years and came back. And he is gay and lives and runs the place with his boyfriend. You see this story is full of contradictions, but it was cool for me to do some own thinking. The system of Cuba is constant debate. Either you fight to have your own political system, and still face the embargo but with your basic needs covered, or give in to capitalism and be able to buy the new Iphone. But I find it extremely unfair to just point the finger to the Cuban system, because we can not know its true potential as long as the capitalist countries keep sabotaging it. Anyway I will make some spam alert and leave you a music video I did for a song dedicated to my dad, with the images of my trip with him to Cuba, the number one tyrany in the world.
Nov 30, 2016 The Cuban government has banned the playing of music and consumption of alcohol for the next 9 days. Any Cuban citizen caught violating this ban will be jailed or worse.
